aww lucky! somehow i managed to select 3-5 day delivery instead of the fastest (2 day?) shipping. kind of getting impatient waiting for it to arrive :P

Looks like we are on the same bus (so to speak), mine also left Louisville at 6:01, it just arrived in Hodgkins, IN an hour or 2 ago. Maybe show up in Portland tomorrow or is it going by truck all the way?

Hmm, wouldn't get my hopes up. Mine was stuck in IL for 2 days for some reason...

I think that's just the last ups centre before delivery, it's still listed as in transit:

Scheduled For Early Delivery On:Tuesday, 11/05/2013, By End of Day

though it is 1 day ahead of schedule.

Hi XXXX,

A parcel arrived for you at our YouShop USA warehouse on 05 Nov 2013 at 1:00pm.

Parcel details

Parcel ID: XXXX
Company name: SCS GA
Parcel description: Cell Phones and Accessories
Parcel value : [unknown]

WTF is SCS GA  ? haha

So i'm about to pay for it.

But what should I state for the value ?

I bought the 16 GB White + 2 day shipping.

I want to say $300 USD.

But if i do say the truth $349 ...can i say $10 for shipping so $359  instead of $363.....since 2 days shipping vs normal ain't that much different

pretty sure you only need to declare the amount of the taxable good? i.e. only the phone (not incldugin the shipping). someone else can probably confirm.

what did you enter the last time you used youshop ?

"A parcel's value must include the item's purchase price and the cost of the postage you paid to get the parcel to the warehouse."

From youshop faq: http://csc.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/1246

I would just declare the value exactly what you paid, you will be over the GST threshold either way.

Ok thanks guys.

just gonna play it safe and declare all.

Now i'm at confusion entering the address.

My office is on Level 4 on a street in Newmarket.

I can't get it to the automatic address filler that youshop has. So what do i do ? which line should the floor number be ? address line 1, 2 ?

Let me break it down for you...

Google Play Store US
Nexus 5 (16GB): 349 USD
Shipping: 9.99 USD
YouShop shipping fee: ~25 NZD
Customs tax: ~115 NZD (from http://www.whatsmyduty.org.nz/)
12-month warranty: free (provided you ship to/from US at your own cost)

Total: ~575 NZD

2degrees
Nexus 5 (16GB): 699 NZD
24-month warranty: free

Difference
~125 NZD

Most US mobile providers offer the phone at 100 USD above Google's price (which is subsidised). This is around 120 NZD. Not only that, you're getting an extra 12-months of warranty, as well as the ease of being able to deal with any problems locally.

tl;dr 2degrees are offering a fantastic deal, do your research before throwing around random numbers.

Your numbers aren't entirely accurate because you're comparing the import costs of a single imported phone vs a bulk import.  2 degrees would be getting the same international version that is sold in Aussie for $450 NZD so I think it's more than reasonable to ask why there is such a big difference in price and I think it's far from fantastic when compared to what Australian's pay.

Need a -1 button... Completely clueless

they'll figure it out when the guy delivers it

put it on line 2 if you have to, or put it after a , on the 1st line

I'll PM you my address :D

I usually enter my floor number/building on line 1 and then the physical address on line 2. Shouldn't really matter but this has worked well for me.

Thanks Ritzlal,
I decided to put it like this

Level 4, 24 StreetName
Newmarket
Auckland
1023
NEW ZEALAND

Should be ok right ?

all up $23.25  (including $6 comp fee)

Customs will be around $116

So ---->  $453 NZD (from $363 USD) + $23.25 NZD + $116 NZD = $590  (not using calculator lol)

If all goes well..............oh wait ...the charger will be american...could i buy an adapter from a cheap $2 shop ?  how about the voltage ?
