webup: How long til a reliable JellyBean ROM?

I flashed a preview CM10 I think but had far too many issues for a daily phone.

Fully reliable ROMs won't come until official 4.1 leaks come from Samsung. As it is, CM10 should improve over the next couple of weeks. Running preview 2 and a day of burn in time seems to have helped it, although battery life is kinda bad compared to stock. Currently at 50% when I'd expect it to be 65%+

Anyone know if there'd be any issues buying a parallel imported S3? My mates looking to buy one, and apparently it's cheapest there ($809)

well you may need to add GST and customs to that which is calculated on the cost including freight which may make it cheaper to buy locally given you get support and covered by CGA.

Stay away from the LTE version otherwise the international is quad band so will work on all telco's here.

Nope, mine is fine and I'm still running the stock ROM as it does everything I want.

Well I've successfully completed the wireless charging mod as per here.

I used a Palm Pixi Plus and a Touchstone bought from Ebay for a grand total of about NZD$25 aaaages ago but should be similarly priced now.

On the Pixi back I removed the coil, metal locators and circuitry and placed it on the inside of the SGS3 in the same orientation as the Pixi so the Pixi's contacts are nearly aligned with the ones inside the SGS3.

Then, using copper/brass plate/foil I fashioned some extensions to the Pixi's contacts and molded up a small rise so that it presses on the SGS3's contacts. You don't need to do any soldering as the metal contact extensions can be placed between the black coil covering and the contact itself. The pressure of the back being on the phone ensures a solid connection. Kind of like this (Image taken from the xda thread linked above). You can buy glue backed foil (Which would make life easier) but I used some plate I had for making shims on other projects and just taped it down with kapton tape (Non insulating).

Note: The positive and negative contacts are the same on the Pixi as they are on the SGS3 so the upper and lower contacts don't need to cross over each other but other Palm wireless backs might not be the same.

There is some obvious bulging to the back from the circuitry inside, but seeing as I use a Rock case it's not visible.

The mod does indeed work with the case on, but it's quite a lot heavier so doesn't sit on the Touchstone as easily. Locating the charging location is a little harder too. I suspect if I used larger/more metal discs for the magnets to grab it might be better.

Occasionally I do - I'm on stock but am using ADW Launcher which I don't think has been updated for quite some time. That might be causing my issue.

Any other recommendations for launchers? I was using Launcher Pro for quite awhile on my SII but then switched to ADW which I am still using on my S3.

Holo Launcher does look pretty good to me, might give it a whirl.
