Visa through National Bank. Glad they rang me and told me though

I use Unblock-us.com

Not a VPN based solution, just a DNS based, $4.99USD a month

Works really well, Netflix/Hulu streaming is almost instantaneous, BBC iPLayer does play, but encounters a bit of buffering

I have moved across the ditch. Now residing in Melbourne as a VOIP/Video Technical Trainer/Engineer.

So NZ$5.96 a month (12 months on Astrill via the discount link) sounds pretty good. Negligible indeed.

Unblock-us sounds good for netflix, I guess, but your traffic is still visible to the ISP. Not a problem for most people.

Up and running in minutes, very easy. Seems to work fine and was streaming Hulu right away. Currently running through my work connection, which I think is Telecom, but dont think it would make too much difference.

From what you say I assume the subscription enables you to run it anywhere (on as many devices/machines as you like)? Is it just a matter of downloading the software on whichever pc or tablet you wish to use it on?

Looks that way. Couldnt see anything in the TOS which prevented me from doing so, the only real exclusion is you cant use the service from Nigeria :)

I'm yet to test on a P2P connection which is the next thing to do. Of course this would only be used to share legal files but I am now paranoid even if I am being legal some troll out there will still accuse me of pirating and I dont want to have to fight it.

P2P works fine, just use one of the servers with a * beside its name. If you're doing things like ssh'ing to non standard ports you sometimes have to use a * server and set up port forwarding too.

It's good in the fact that you can setup the DNS settings in the router too, for all devices in the house

But I guess you can't use it while roaming, like you possibly could with VPN

I read about a way to do that, using security software or a firewall. I can't remember the details, because I don't need it either.
