avecha: So the exploding S3 that the guy overseas was accusing/getting ready to sue Samsung about was from the guy putting it in a microwave. He removed all accusations towards Samsung.
Funny fella.

the other day i could feel the heat from the phone (phone just sitting in pocket and doing nothing! no wifi,no auto sync etc.,)

that very morning i read this news and was bit worried. i removed the battery and put that back again and all normal after that.

Mine gets warm too from being in my pocket but nothing to write home about.

Been using it for a couple of weeks now, and what I found it if wi-fi is enabled and there is wi-fi around it does get hot.

During the working week I have my phone sitting on my desk with WIFI turned on and connected. I've never noticed my phone getting hot, slightly warm is the hottest it ever gets.

Cheers man, looks easy enough.

Re a 64gb SD Card, am I really going to have to fork out $100 for one? Or is there somewhere cheaper than, TM eBay and Amazon?

Man I am feeling so frustrated. I think I actually dislike my S3. I am on my 3rd one already and I just can't seem to get decent Wifi with it. I just installed a top of the line Access point, I have 5 bars of signal everywhere in my house with all of my wireless devices (2 tablets, 2 phones, 3 laptops, and a media streamer), but my s3, loses signal 5m from the access point. I have tried 20Mhz, 40Mhz, mixed mode, different channels, everything I can think of.

I am nearly at the point of returning my s3 for a refund and getting another phone.

Anyone able to shed any light? Able to share their experiences with WiFI and whether they consider the wifi good or bad on the S3 in general, better or worse than any other device they own?

No issues at all, do you have another WAP to try that isn't so top of the line??
I haven't changed any wifi settings on the phone everything just works...

Well this WAP was purchased to try and fix what I thought were "wireless" issues in my house, and the coverage of this one is streets ahead of what I had before, and even the prior one didn't work well.

Worse I have a White s3 which belongs to my colleague and that isn't as bad with wireless.

almost no issues with my S3 (occassionaly it does not connect ,just have to turn off wifi and turn on again).

I made no changes at all and still using my old router (netcomm which came with slingshot signup). if other devices connecting fine then it had to be S3 issue. may be make sure no app screwing up with connection.

may be try changing channel on router page (check wifi explorer app) ?

Same here, no problems in a fairly large house with an oldish TP-Link router.

No issues whatsoever with my SGSIII on a Linksys WRT310N - connects super-fast, and I've never had a drop-out.  It's the same router I had for my original Galaxy S and SGSII, and no problems there either.

The only WIFI problem that I have is occasionally not reconnecting after I've been connected and then moved out of range. But I'm pretty sure that it's my router's fault as someone else with the exact same router model has reported the same thing. An old Dynalink RTA1025W.

Yeah me. I'm definitely convinced it's the router now as the missus sent out an SOS this morning because her ipad lost its wireless connection at home and it hasn't t moved out of the house.

I've got the same router at work and I have the same occasional problem.  Used to do it with my old HTC Magic as well.
