networkn: Well it has to be hardware really. I just did a factory reset. My workmates S3 connects to my wireless at home, my newly factory reset, won't connect. Prompts for the password and immediately shows "secured, saved".

If I walk to the access point, it will suddenly get an ip address about 4 meters from the AP itself.

If I ping from both devices to my router, as I walk around the house there are around 8 places I don't get a reply from mine, that DOES reply on the workmates S3.

I am partially torn to see if the custom kernel helps, but I am of the opinion that it wouldn't help.

Lol you're one unlucky man. The only problem with mine is screen got black spot when using black and I can see a little light leakage from the back button. Seems like glue wasn't stick properly, I applied pressure and it was gone but once I let go my finger it came back. It's only effecting when I use black screen test, otherwise it's not too biggy.

Finally will get an S3. Using GZ's price comparison search. Gadgets Online is the cheapest. Anyone had experience with them?

kiwitrc:  Actually its amazing how much women like the S3, I thought the bigger screen might have been a put off but not so.

Strange, I thought that the bigger screen was more of a turn-off for guys (seriously!)  Being a woman myself, I've never found larger screens an issue. I bought an HTC Desire HD only a couple of months after buying the standard Desire, simply because I wanted the larger screen. Why not have the big & beautiful, especially when size of the device isn't an issue when phones get carried in bags?

I remember when the HTC Desire HD came out a lot of guys expressed concern about them fitting into pockets. Women who routinely carry bags never have to worry about that Tongue Out

I think generally bigger screen means either needing two hands or very large hands. I had no issues operating my SII with 1 hand, but struggle a little at the limits with my SIII

My wife wanted a smaller device, but she doesn't carry a handbag.

I always wonder about people who insist on only using one hand to use their phone, what are they doing with the other hand that's so important ;)

I operate my S3 one handed most of the time. This is especially useful when on the train and using one hand to hold onto the rail so I don't fall over. I have fairly large hands so don't really have any problem operating it with one hand though.

Same here - I'd qualify 'large' hands by being able to easily overlay the tip of my middle finger over my thumbnail if I close my hand over the widest part of the phone (if that makes sense?).  Can be a little fiddly activating the notification menu, but you get the knack pretty quickly.

Blimey, I've got 2cm dead air between my middle finger and thumb.

This is the first phone that I have thought to be too large to access everything on screen.  I have applications in a folder in the top left corner of the screen and I have to stretch to reach diagonally (leaving RH thumb on lower right corner, reaching to LH top right corner).

If I hold the phone in my left hand where my thumb would naturally land in the middle of the screen (top and bottom), I can't reach the menu and back buttons.  I have to juggle the phone, or use my other hand to re-position the phone to allow me access to the button.

It's a noticeable difference to the S2.

I have to be honest and say I think I love the S2 more than the S3 for form factor.  My whopping 5'2" height probably has a lot to answer for the awkwardness I feel using the S3.

You're 157cm? o.O that's quite little lol. 171cm and I have no problem with S3 :)

Also meant to say, that link you supplied waaaaaay back re the S3 batteries, looks like they are fakes, NFC doesnt work on them. I contacted the seller in the UK and they said send them back no questions asked which I am going to do, then once I get me refund its dob in time on eBay.

I bought 5 for the phones here at work.
