I have had no problem with the camera on my HD. The only problem being no dedicated shutter button.  I have trouble seeing the screen outdoors and trying to find the onscreen button. Have missed a few good shots because of that.

I bought a samsung galaxy s and I can see the screen easier but camera no easier to use.  I much prefer the HD so will sell the samsung

you guys can allocate the volume keys to take a picture with camera zoom fx, it's on the market. Excellent camera app and works well with the desire hd. Only downside is its $6.56 but its well worth it in my opinion.

Thanks teihoata, can you tell me what the name of the app is? That would be a handy thing to have!

Been running CyanogenMod 7 RC2 and loving it. Being able to assign volume buttons to shutter is awesome.

Nope, no 2.3 for the Desire HD yet, not for another 3-6 months

It's rumoured that the Gingerbread update is starting to roll out within the next week or two. A French carrier has announced that they will be updating their customers in the first half of this month. It may take longer before it rolls out across the world but it doesn't look like we will be waiting long.
