blair003: I can get the payment screen but it rejects the payment in google wallet.

For those that successfully ordered: was it on your normal google account? Was it your normal NZ visa/mastercard?

Finally... managed to place my order and all the Youshop/Google Wallet tricks mentioned earlier in this thread worked (thank you).

In answer to the question above, Yes my NZ National Bank (Visa) CC was accepted, although nothing has been charged yet (until they have the item in stock).

It did ask me to fill in the billing details of the card, to which I gave it my Youshop details.

So, here's to the next 6-7 weeks (plus youshop delivery time) to go very quickly please.

Good luck to others who are trying to purchase through Google Play.

Tried ordering 3 times but each time (after putting all my card and address info in) it would say the order was cancelled. Using the new wallet account/youpost method. Guess I'll just wait til it comes out here, the youpost threshold would have been pretty hit or miss anyway.

I managed to buy 2 x 16GB.  I already have the 8GB but wanted the 16GB so I'll be selling the 8GB when the 16GB arrives.

Wow, finally. Ordered! It didn't go 100% smooth. It initially said there was a problem but then my google wallet shows purchase and I received a receipt inn my gmail account.

So....landed I will pay a total of $567. Which is incredible for this phone considering I paid $900 for my last phone

I've been trying to order a 16GB one today using the VPN / Youshop method. Seems like the Playstore has settled down a lot and there is stock available, and I'm able to go through and order it without timeouts or error messages.

However, I am having trouble when it comes to actually paying for it via the Google wallet account I get "couldn't complete your purchase due to a technical issue" and "The order has been automatically cancelled and you have not been charged". I setup my Google wallet credit card address as the Youshop address, however my bank doesn't let me set the address on the actual credit card (debit plus), so that could be why.

I guess I will have to look at other options Cry

Congrats to those who managed to order one without any issues!

Mine is BNZ, but same thing I suppose.

I actually spoke too soon though, after 99% giving up, gave it one last shot and the payment window was different than that which usually pops up. Instead of loading in a javascript popup window within the page, it actually took me to a new page and said "not available in your area" (defaulting to the other NZ address on my google account). I was then able to switch that dropdown box to the Youshop US address, and it went through! Received a confirmation email a few minutes later thanking me and saying my credit card will be charged when the order is shipped.

No idea what was different that caused it to work that time and not the previous many tries. I noticed the play store / VPN was running much slower as if it was under heavy load again just before it worked. Perhaps it tried to load a 'low bandwidth' version of the payment window which processes things differently or something?

Anyway, I'm pleased mine went through (presuming it all goes smoothly). I have noticed the shipping times estimated by the play store started at 1-2 weeks, crept up to 2-3 weeks when I got mine and are now sitting at 3-5 (I think). So I guess the orders are going through on back-order and the wait times are just increasing with the demand.

Good luck to you, mwilcox, hope you can pick one up too.

When I managed to order the first time around (14th) on a westpac debit plus card, it also eventually took me to the 'lo-fi' page, and I ordered that way - not sure why it did it that way, maybe turn javascript off when you order????

Happy to report that my nexus 4 has now shipped, so still got a long wait before me.

I just placed an order with no issues on Google Play. Here are the steps I took.

1. Registered at YouShop
2. Setup my google wallet with my youshop address as my shipping address.
3. added my NZ credit card to Google Wallet
4. Added my Youshop address as my billing address for that credit card (in Google wallet).
5. Used VPN to place an order.

My order of an 8GB has a shipping estimate of 7-8 weeks!

valuebasket.co.nz offers a similar service to mobicity and may come in slightly cheaper if you can't wait, and they appear to have stock.
I've also been trying to get an indication from ezishopping.co.nz about when they might have some stock, they keep telling me to "call back tomorrow".
