ronw: Maybe I am dense but how do you change the cursor back to a pointer

Go to 'Settings', then 'Language & Input', then under the (final) heading 'Mouse and trackpad settings' select 'Touchpad pointer style' and change it from 'Gesture mode' to 'Mouse cursor mode'.

Because my pad was rooted the upgrade failed.  I found through searching XDA that it's normal.  I applied the zip file that had been made that allows root to be kept and includes the upgrade.  Once I rebooted the dock upgrade was available.  All good here.

If anyone else has stock 3.2 and has rooted their pad and unable to upgrade, have a look at this post

I had rooted to allow adhoc wifi tethering and had no joy with the update. Unrooted and applying the update worked for me. I have no reason to be rooted now that the new update allows adhoc tethering.

My views (except when I am looking out their windows) are not those of my employer.

Yep, many people commented that since the upgrade they no longer required root access.  I use Titanium Backup and Root Explorer still and both require root access.

As far as I can tell none of the office suites (including the bundled Polaris) offer external keyboard shortcut support. I contacted quickoffice about it and they told me if I thought it was a valuable feature to put it in here: http://quickoffice.ideascale.com/a/d...oid/31325-5219

Hopefully some others agree this feature would be awesome and help me ditch my laptop for good ;)
If you agree go to the link and vote it up, hopefully the devs will listen and put it in there for a future release.

Finally received my Eee pad yesterday (had ordered it from a FirstIn deal).
Very happy with it.
Was worried for a while when at first I couldn't connect it to my home WiFi (after successfully connecting to my work WiFi earlier in the day).
The tablet just didn't appear to see my home WiFi network at all (even though the WiFi network was still working just fine for all my other WiFi devices at home.)
Google was my friend - I found a suggestion to turn off WMM on my WiFi router setup. After that the tablet saw the network and connected normally.
Strange that that was a problem - it hadn't mattered for my Samsung Galaxy S or my first el-cheapo Eken android tablet.

kind regards Andrew TD

Great news Andrew, glad to hear FirstIn delivered and you figured out the answer to the weird wi-fi issue. Glad to hear you're happy with it. Now you can load it up with loads of free apps!

Strange things with ASUS Keyboard I had selected the US Keyboard but found that shift 2 was coming up as " instead of @.
I tried changing keyboard to UK which seems to fix that but the system keeps complaining and asks me to revert to US keyboard so that tablet and keyboard are correct.
So far I am ignoring that but wonder what others are using for a keyboard selection

I'm using the Assus US English keyboard setting, and it correctly gives me a @ when pressing shift-2
You might like to check that your language selection matches. Mine is US English.

kind regards Andrew TD

OK, not sure what happened with my last post but...

Which soft keyboard are you using the tablet. Is it the stock ASUS one, the stock Android one or a custom?

I dont have a problem, but out of interest I do also have my language set to US English. When I get home I could try setting to proper English and see what happens (dont have the dock with me at the moment).

I have found that if I select UK English for my Language it will only give UK English keyboard options,
that is ASUS UK ASUS, and English UK Android
If I select the first one UK ASUS it gives the " for shift 2
I can fix that by selecting the Android keyboard but that causes errors where it thinks the tablet is out of whack with tghe keyboard.
If I go fo US English I then oinbly get USA keyboards and the keys come right but I imaghine that will mean that I will egt American spelling
