Chances are if you turn up to some random house in Wainuiomata it's going to be
a) full of gang members
b) a P lab

edit

c) both.....

M_I_C_H_A_E_L: Hi guys Got my GS3 earlier today, havent booted it up yet. Its 16Gb Pebble Blue, won it in a competition. Would of liked 32Gb but beggers cant be choosers :). Manual says I should charge the phone before using it, does that matter or not? Im guessing I could just use what battery it has left first then charge it..?

Cheers

Always good to give it a charge to 100% before first use. I know it's hard to resist ;-)

Cheers mate, will give it a charge then :). Yeah coming from a Nexus One this is going to be interesting :)

One more question (for now anyway lol) which MHL cable should I be looking out for?

Something like this http://www.trademe.co.nz/mobile-phones/accessories/cases-protectors/other/auction-508843510.htm

Or http://www.trademe.co.nz/mobile-phones/accessories/data-cables/samsung/auction-509144325.htm

Or even this? http://www.clove.co.uk/micro-hdmi-to-hdmi-cable

Thanks in advance for everybodys help :)

I just got an official Samsung HDTV adapter from Bond n Bond for $54.00NZD.  Was expecting it to be around $70-80 but couldn't resist after seeing it at that price.  Works a treat, now I have everything I need for my S3.  I can definitely use it instead of an laptop now.

Gday there, given up the lurking as i've not been able to find this elsewhere on the thread, apologies if its been covered.
Picked up a samsung g3 from dick smith on monday. Its nominally a 2degrees phone but i just stuck my telecom sim in there and it fired straight up. Do i need to download firmware from telecom?
Any bump in the right direction appreciated.

There is a slight difference in the telecom firmware, it runs as an i9300T with a minor technical change that was discussed way back in this forum (fast dormancy). You'll likely get a little more out of your battery with the correct version!

I havnt seen any posts of people successfully turning an i9300 into an i9300T or the same effect but no doubt someone will pipe up on here in time......

I flashed a stock 2 Degrees ROM onto my friends Telecom S3 on Saturday. It got rid of the boot up Telecom logo and now says Samsung Galaxy S3 GT-i9300 instead of GT-i9300T when booting as well. I guess the reverse could be done with no problems but you wouldn't have the internal tweaks that come with the T model....whatever they are. My mates one was working fine on 2 Degrees before the flash but he just wanted to get rid of the Telecom logo and use it as a Snapper card (the Snapper app\widget won't display the correct balance unless it's a 2 Degrees ROM)

You can definitely take 64GB, not sure if anyone has tested anything bigger (or if there is anything bigger).

64GB is no problem at all. Though it can become a bit slower to indexing if you have a lot of stuff on there. 128GB is also working according the OS limitation.

My N95-1 saying on the box, supports up to 8GB but when I put 32GB and it still worked :)

When Samsung said up-to 64GB then it is because 64GB was the maximum capacity during the time of testing. Though 128GB should work as well but without a card to test then we can't be real sure, right?
