chovik: Can everyone else take photos whilst videoing? I see in the mnaual that when videoing that there should be a camera icon that you can touch to take photos at the same time...my camera icon is missing when I am videoing...have I done something with my settings to cause this?

Did you enable the Anti-Shaking on Video recording option?

If you do then this is the cause of it. Disable it and it should show the take picture option after. :)

Source? Pass experience.

That's it..just tried turning that on and off and you are 100% correct...strange..doesn't really seem to be a gorrelation between the 2

Lol I think I hit 2 questions with spot on answers lately. Should I say I'm experienced? :D

I personally think that this is a bug in the camera app. Samsung perhaps forgotten to include "taking picture" option when Anti-shake is enabled or got it commented out by accident.

Hope it is fixed in the JB release

Hi there, so connecting my SGS3 to my TV I need a HDMI Cable and also this right? The HDMI cable goes into this adapter? Just making sure I understand before I go out and spend $100 :D

So when I get both of those I will be able to hook it SGS3 to my TV, correct?

Wow good to see Noel Leeming are finally being more honest and selling cheaper HDMI cables.

They used to not sell any under about $70 which is a joke.

Once you have those two parts you listed it will work. Enjoy.

Yep must be firmware differences. Mine saying nothing and when enabling anti shake, camera field zoomed in a little closer than when it is disabled.

Still a stock XT rom for now.

Yep, that's exactly what I'm using and it works a treat.  Just remember that you'll need to plug in the power cable into the adapter along with the HDMI to make it work.

Hi,
Im looking into buying an S3. After doing some research i just realized there are different versions of this model.
I guess the question here is:
1) how does the performance of the Quad core 1GB RAM model compare to the dual core 2GB RAM model?
2) how does the performance of the GPU rendering of Adreno 225 vs "New" Mali 400MP4?

Or is it best to just wait for an unlocked version of the black version of the s3 which has just been announced in OZ the "Samsung galaxy GT-I9305"
which packs a 2GB ram+ Quad Core

Hmm Telecom already got upto LH1 and Vodafone still on LF2.
I'm not sure if I should blame Samsung for this slow update on Vodafone branding. I blame carrier since it is a carrier branding phone.

Got the new S3 from Noelleeming, I am surprised that the firmware is of Vodafone and I was of the impression that I had got an unlocked phone? Are there different firmwares in NZ other then the XT one ? If yes any difference or which one is better ?

I am enjoying S3, definitely its far I am sure will outrun Iphone 5. I guess I will flash the new firmware of JB in few days if Samsung does on officially releases it.

Btw I am on 2deg prepay.

Cheers

Johnr mentioned a few pages back that they ok'd an update for the Vodafone carrier phones over a month ago and are waiting for Samsung to roll it out.
