Yes no problem. I dropped my note 8 twice, both times the whitestone protector prevented my screen from breaking.

So $60 protector saved a easy $450 screen replacement, twice!.

Is Zagg's Curved Elite similar to Whitestone? It's $45 iirc

I can explain the difference. All the other glad screen protectors, zagg elite included, only have adhesive around the edges. This means the middle of the protector is not truly laminated to the screen and it can cause touch sensitivity of issues. Touch sensitivity can be adjusted in the settings. I had one of these on my s8+ (after going naked and then breaking the screen) and 8 was happy with it.

Whitestone dome uses optically clear liquid glue to stick the whole thing on. This works better but had a way more stressful and messy application process. Google the flossy Carter video on the install and you will see what I mean. Price is high because the kit includes the glue and auv light to cure the whole thing.

The third option is the magic self healing plastic one from Samsung.

When I got the Samsung one the excited young bike doing the install talked about the gorilla glass 5 and how the curve made it even stronger. It's all lies, when mine broke it landed face down on gravel but it was only from a height on 30 cm as it slid slowly of a chair. To compile the problem it's the same glass on the other side. That's solvable by using a case but this time around I am putting something over the screen.

I am typing all this with the same pen using swype typing on the Google keyboard. I had forgotten how good it is...

Thanks for the explanation. I think I'll stick with my Samsung magic self healing screen protector for now. I'm usually very careful with my devices. But then that's what everyone says.

I hope you get it monday, i was worried it would not be noticeable from the note 8. But heavy users like myself and maybe you, will see its quite a nice refinement. I am enjoying it a lot and the 8gb version is much worth it IMO.

Yeah, I got mine yesterday. Was quite the hassle. It's a lovely phone though. The Blue Colour is outstanding.

I don't find the fingerprint sensor location significantly better than the note 8, but the Iris+face recognition is outstanding.

No way :O I have been using the fingerprint sensor way more now because of its new location. Even to unlock my phone now which was not thr case for my note 8. Maybe my hand size just fites perfectly for it ?

Yea its not just a small upgrade, the speed is so much nicer. Im multitasking like a woman in the kitchen. Its super good.

Oh and the battery *drawl*

I could go over everything. The only thing i dont like is that stupid bixby button.

The only thing now that would entice me to upgrade from the note 9 are these three things.

Inscreen fingerprint.
Smaller bezels.
Faster performance.

They would have to do all three of these for me to even think about changing next year. Even if they crack the increen fingerprint, it wouldnt be enough.

Just bought the Package Disabler Pro for $5.49 and disabled bixby and all its related services.

Now the bixby button is just a dummy button. Well worth the $5.49 imo

If anyone is new to Samsung then a life pro tip of to download Disconnect Pro Privacy and Performance from the Galaxy app store. It's a system level add blocker that uses the firewall built into Knox to block any known add domains so it works in all apps on your phone. This app isn't in the play store because add blockers violate the Google terms and conditions cos those guys love adds. On a similar note Samsung internet is a great browser which (unlike chrome) allows you to install an add and tracking blocker. Disconnect pro does cost $35 but I think it's worth it. Adds suck.

Went and got the screen protector today Landcruiser Guy and installed myself.
The little jig that plugs into the charge port and keeps the protector square on to the screen is fantastic imo. It made the whole job somewhat of a breeze and fitment of the protector is great too.

Thanking you for the heads up ☺

Oh the relief now the phone is completely protected

Does it block ads within the YouTube app as well?

I am not sure about those as I have you tube red so I don't see them in the first place. Dns based add blockers can't filter out adds if they come from the same source as the content which I think you tube might. You might want to try Samsung internet because the video assistant in the browser let's your do several of the you tube red features like background playback and picture in picture.

Yes. Has spark log on boot and power down. Preinstalled spark app as well
