josephal: Does titanium backup restore apps and settings? Bit of a nuisance reinstalling everything and setting up how you like it. Is there a no hassle way to restore? Think will also wait for a custom rom release of it.

I always use Titanium Backup to restore user apps and settings, which includes Nova Launcher so I don't have to spend ages setting up my home screens again.

Can anyone give a quick breakdown of what the 'power saving mode' option does? For those who use it, how much additional battery life has it given?

Has anyone used the Seido 3500 mah extended battery? I don't know if I can bring myself to think about it with the extra thickness it would add.

Nice! Will be good to hear if there's any actual real world improvements. I need the stock 2 Degrees ROM for Snapper purposes so will have to play the waiting game........

I know @the_gadgeteur on Twitter was well impressed with his (good chap worth a follow, prolific though!). Nice looking unit as extended batteries go.

JB stock vs ICS stock

JB:

-F********* Super Smoother transitions ^_^
-Opening folder now is smoother and faster than before. No lag when scrolling in folder + cool animation
-New TW launcher (now closer look to stock in app draws)
-JB notification bar (expandable contents etc...)
-No touch lag
-Switching between apps is super fast
-Homescreen is much smoother when scrolling and app draws is smooth as butter on hot summer day
-Home button is instantaneous and responsive when click
-New Task manager
-Camera focusing much improved
-5 icons on lock screen
-Google Now is WOW
-Reading from SDcard is much faster nwo
-Now on the quick shortcuts has Blocking Mode.
-Battery usage seems good
-No more Cell Standby reporting error
-New Setting menu
-Negative Colors is now fixed the line on the left
-Rearranging icons on homescreen now is easier than eating banana (icons moving away when rearranging)
-Most importantly RAM!!!! Now you have 833MB to use :D up from 730MB
-Lots more improvments but I haven't tried. These are my quick tests :)
-Notification bar is now DARK GREY (before was black)

Same as ICS:
- Camera app is the same
- Gallery is the same (no Note2 features)
- S Memo (no S-note)
- S-voice still there
- And everything else the same
- Still a little lag in Widgets drawer when going in but smooth as butter after loaded.

Easy Mode: Provides an easier experience for first time smartphone users from their home screen. Easy mode is basically lots of shortcuts widgets on home screen but very easy for beginners.

Basic Mode: Provides a conventional layout for the apps and widgets on your home screen. Freely customisable to your liking.

Blocking Mode: When this mode is enabled, notification for selected features will be disabled. You will only receive notifications of incoming calls from people you allowed on the list.

Features:

-Disable incoming calls [ ]
-Disable notifications [ ]
-Disable LED indicator [ ]

Set time:
-Always [ ]
-From time 00:00
-To time 00:00

Allowed Contacts

-Allowed contacts > Select your contacts
-Allowed contact list > Select group of contact

HINTS:
For those who'd like to get Google Now to talk back the results then do this.
Setting > Language and region setting > Choose default language to US English.

I wonder if I can use Blocking Mode to replace the Bedside Buddy app that I currently use? I use this to turn off data sync between 9pm and 8am so I'm not disturbed by incoming emails, but calls and texts can still come through.

You should be able to use the Sync Schedule (in email settings) for that.
