No not really, by the time LTE is useful on a wide scale here we'll have newer and better devices.

Thought as much.

My main issue with the phone was a lack of SD slot, however it appears it will be cheap enough that I could probably by one along with a Cowon J3 for music

I currently have the LG-P500h which I quite like. I do like the wireless charging and glass back of this phone, might be time for an upgrade.

Nope, since we don't have LTE and we don't even know which LTE bands we'll have here, i'd say late next year/2014 before we see LTE becoming mainstream here.

Hey, what's the story with the previous Nexus device and that if it was purchased directly from The Play store, it had a different model number and that some of the software updates went out to it earlier than the other devices sold in other countries?

USD$250 Difference.

And Google is a Cloud Company, so it makes sense that the Nexus range is going to encourage Cloud storage rather than Phone storage.

The Down side is that we live in NZ and that we can't (easily) access the coolest Play services like Music and Movies etc.

The 16GB is US$349 not $399

Since it's $349USD for the 16GB, i'd guess $700ish, or maybe $700 for the 8GB and $750/800 for the 16GB version -.-

I'm presuming you're only including parallel importers since as with previous Nexus phones, it sounds definite there's not going to be an official import. The Galaxy Nexus 16GB was the same US$349 price until it was removed to make way for the Nexus 4. This has been available for about NZ$500 - NZ$550 for a few months now (remembering it dropped to US$349 at the end of June). PBTech is around NZ$575. Even Mighty Ape the most expensive is only NZ$700. Most of these prices, except perhaps Mighty Ape have been around for long enough that they're unlikely to just be importers clearing their stock before the Nexus 4 arrives. Since it's new, the Nexus 4 may be a little more at first but NZ$700 seems too high. I would guess NZ$550-600 at most for the cheaper importers, PBtech at most $650. Perhaps $700 for the first week or two (assuming it will perhaps arrive here by the end of November) but even if that is the case I can't imagine it will be that by Christmas time unless there are supply issue or the NZ dollar collapses.

It is a bit of a pity Google still doesn't sell direct to NZ on Google Play particularly since they're selling to Oz.

Lots of talk on reddit about the lack of an sd card, general consensus is that cloud applications make it worthwhile. No one seems really bothered by the missing lte.

A little correction, the Nexus 4 16GB is $349USD

With exchange rate and GST I would expect it to retail for no more than $500 after the initial high demand shipment.

That is INCREDIBLE

Parallel imported I might add.

Hopefully so, I also would hope that with all the hype around this nexus that at least one carrier is going to offer the handset (at a reasonable rate)
