The Kiwibank app works fine for me, it's clean and simple and does the job I want - checking balances on the go, and paying bills.

You can use a four digit PIN, and there is a setting to stop it logging out when you exit the app (it will auto log out after four minutes, though).

The issues with the ANZ android app will be sorted next year they tell me, they are looking to make it more like the iOS app with pin number login and pay to mobile number, i do not know how the iOS app compares with other banks, but base your decisions on that if you can hang out till an upgrade.

minigopher17: Got to agree with others, ANZ's lack of logging in with a PIN makes it difficult to use.

sounds like im the only person who prefers logging using a username + password.  ATM card is fine, but if you get full access to all my accounts, I want something safer than a 4 or 5 digit pin to protect it.

cant say which is best android app, but iOS wise i liked NBNZ app (was the first bank to make one), was simple but good.

ive switched to windows phone 8, and errr thinking about switching to ANZ because they are the only bank with a WP8 app (and it looks good)

The ANZ app is the old national bank app, just rebadged on android. The ios national bank app was similar, and I think that still works with ANZ if you still have a copy of it. I think it possbily has more features than the ANZ iOS app anyway, which seems a bit dumbed down.

code15: The iPhone kiwibank app is the best banking app. So I imagine the android version would be good also! Supports pin login, and the quality of the app is as good as I've seen in any app. (Kiwibank is the way to go anyway, stay away from those Aussie banks)

I don't think so I don't enjoy lining up with trademe sellers

How often do you go into a branch unless you're 90 years old? Banks will come to you for most stuff these days.

Keep the billions of profits in NZ. Plus the ap is good.

im 30, i go to a branch probably 10 times a year, not a lot, but enough to be annoyed by long lines of "trade me sellers".

given the amount of posters that can say one app is better than the rest I must be in a minority as I only use one bank therefore choice would be the BNZ as I've never used any others so can't say its the best but works fine for me.

westpacs cashtank is great. but otherwise asb seems smoother and easier. since asb allow multiple accounts per fastnet login it works better than westpac if your business and personal or whatever are at the same bank.

The BNZ app is fine for my requirements. All accounts (business and personal) that I can access via online banking are also available via the app. Works very well and I've had no issues at all with it. Haven't used any other banking app however, so can't compare.

People often mistake me for an adult because of my age.

I find it pretty worthless really. I am not exactly saw why Westpac  don't have a proper app

I agree, the current National Bank app for android still works (regardless if you have an ANZ or National Bank cust number).

I use the national bank app to access and I wasnt a national bank customer to begin with !
The ANZ Go Money app for android has been upgraded recently.

Another vote for the Kiwibank app though I've only used this, National Bank and ANZ so can't compare to ASB
