One problem I foresee with the SIV is that it will most likely ship with 4.2.2 and then a month or two later Google will release 5.0.0 and your Cutting edge SIV will then have to wait at least another 6mths before seeing any form of OS update

From my ignorant viewpoint Google owe Samsung some kudos for pushing Android into a top tier/ true iPhone competitor, hence they should work together to get updates out within days or weeks of Nexus OS releases

If those rumours are true, my next phone won't be a Galaxy.
I've had S1, S2 and S3 which really doesn't need updating anyway..
My only complaint about OMLED is the screen burn, which both S2 and S3 have done.

I've had S1, S2 and S3 which really doesn't need updating anyway..

Kinda funny that the only way this supposed S4 could be photographed was in a dark cave so dark bats struggle to make out the phone!
I call BS on that photo.

If those are the specs, they'll be for the US model only. The last 2 generations of Galaxy flagship phones have had Exynos SoC's for the international models and Snapdragon on the US model. I believe that the reason for this change is that Qualcomm had better support for the cellular frequencies and technologies used in the US.

The same goes for the screen. Samsung have been consistently using SAMOLED for their international phones and only using LCD on the Snapdragon models.The SAMOLED screens don't have a backlight and therefore can't leak light.

Definitely expect the S4 to follow on the same footsteps as the S2 and S3.

Actually, after thinking about it, Samsung have made a huge effort to unify their Galaxy design range (just look at the Galaxy Note 8 etc..), the phone in that photo looks like an S2 or a Sony/HTC/whatever.
I'm pretty sure (hopefully) that it is just another Android rumour.

It looks like the Galaxy S IV features an Exynos Octa 5410 CPU clocked at 1.8GHz, PowerVR SGX 544MP GPU, 2GB of RAM, 4.99″ Full HD (1920?1080) display and a 13 Megapixel Camera. The device also runs Android 4.2 out of the box. The Galaxy S IV retains the menu, back and home buttons, like its predecessors.

The most interesting thing is that the device supports GSM/WCDMA/LTE networks with an Exynos processor on-board. So that means there will be only a one single variant of the device, the GT-I9500. Previously, Samsung used to release two variants of their high-end devices, for example the GT-I9300 and GT-I9305. One variant used to have GSM connectivity and the other one had LTE connectivity but this is not the case with the Galaxy S IV. The Galaxy S IV will be a world phone."

more rumours from Sammobile, most are pretty consistant with the Octa 1.8hz, 2 gb Ram, 4.99" screen, LTE.
Also read there was going to be a white and also black version which is great as never liked the blue on the S3.

Time will tell though

Really looking forward to the 13th to confirm all that gravy. I don't think the design will change much, I think Samsung are happy with it without starting another Apple war!

I think the only real things to improve on now is design & power management. Slim 5000mah batteries would be a good start! :P

Interesting to see the PowerVR 544MP in there, reading Anandtech's write up it appears a credible performer.

The Antutu screen also seem to confirm external SD slot with the storage listed as 16/32, I really hope Samsung release this as a minimum 32GB storage device though.

At this point I am most interested to see how the camera performs, so far the Xperia Z doesn't look like it will challenge the SIV in the camera department, and example shots from the HTC One suggest it won't either.

Also, will it be plastic construction again, or something new from Samsung?

I think a lot of the reason for the split Note 2 and S3 models was due to difficulties with LTE compatibility in the chipsets, Hence the delays in a number of the manufacturers releasing LTE compatible chipsets

The S3 i9305 supports Dual carrier & LTE so why not the S4?
