Nakedcity: I hope this doesn't jinx me...but

As of 6 May 2013 the phone is still working fine.

Am looking at getting one too. Did u get direct from site or a wholesaler website?

How long did it take to arrive into NZ?

I got 2 screen protectors as the screen isn't gorilla glass or anything like that...I figured it was a good idea as I don't use cases.

I didn't get an extra battery.

We are going to see some pretty cool tech coming out of China over the next few years.

Even their cars are starting to get reasonably good

I've been using a zopo zp300+ for a couple of months now. No complaints - other than the gps takes forever to connect (despite the settings)

That's just because they rip off European cars and make an identical copy. Then name it the Ginsu XD4000 so it sounds like a set of steak knives.

their cars look good but often the drivetrain is that of a basic 1990 unit and most cars do not have any safety rating as I don't think it's required in China.

Your 30 grand would not last half the distance of a jap car but hey who knows on 10 years time ... Look at hyundai!

That's so 2011 Steve :P They have levelled up now.

P.S. You may have angered them now. Those XT Huawei listening towers are sending your thoughts back through the great firewall

You're right, but they are innovating at a faster pace than probably anyone before them.

Agree.

And have a burgeoning middle class that is starting to use their own products...which helps push the quality up.

The old addage always applies: buyer beware.  China just produces more options, so there's more crap out there (and probably more good stuff).
