BigMal: Weird, I can browse and buy hardware at will. Is your billing/delivery address still set as your US address?
Now that I'm thinking about it, I didn't make a Google account until after I got the Nexus (I remember having to create one as part of initial setup). I can't have needed an account to buy the phone itself (it was back in 2010) so I won't actually have a hardware purchase on my account.
I purchased a chromecast on the 15 th Aug through play store using a vpn and have just been informed that it had been shipped to YouShop tonight.
This after many unsuccessful attempts to purchase an n4 the same way. The only difference was I used a different cc or in actual fact it was a newly acquired loaded for travel card.
I'm mad about YouShop! Used them 4 times now and they haven't let me down+speedy service.
With the price reduction for the N4 seems like the Ñ5 may be around the corner. I'm getting itchy fingers for a new phone, wonder what it will be. After all this phone is nearly a year old :-)
It seems to have worked for me and I now have three NEXUS4s on the their way to the Youshop warehouse.
I do have some concerns however. I understand that Lithium-ion batteries are sometimes restricted from postal services. Has this been a problem for anyone when dealing with Youshop?
Also, should I ask Youshop to ship the three phones separately in order to avoid duty and GST?
No problems with the Nexus 4 being shipped ny youpost. I think you may be a bit stuck with GST, should really have ordered them a week apart. Even if you bring in all 3 in seperate parcels if customs finds them together you will get charged the GST
