Hmmm, that's not bad for a phone that isn't really available in NZ yet, especially paying shipping and duty, but I might wait a little longer just in case!

Did it come with a UK charger plug? What do you think of the phone?

Having gone back to my old trusted S2 after breaking my Nexus 5, I must admit I think I do prefer the smaller size factor. The Sony would definitely be on my short list for replacement ... if only they sold it here (as I will get my next phone via contract with Voda).

(Size is the only thing I prefer - the S2 pales terribly against the N5 in all other areas)

Moto G is a good size, but isn't premium at all, it feels a bit cheap to me.

I didn't buy it, just worked out the cost. :-)

I do prefer the smaller screen size though.

Rumour has it the HTC One M8 will have a "mini" sibling with a 4.5 inch screen so that will be another to check out.

It is not a screen protector and it is removable (except you'll lose Sony logo)

Nice photo! Did you order it through Clove? And did you have to pay customs etc on top of the standard price? And did it come with a New Zealand charger plug adapter, or just a UK plug?

Sorry for all the questions - really considering this one for my next phone and it's looking like it won't be released locally so will probably go to same route as you!

What's the glass underneath? My Xperia P has a "scratch resistant" film on the screen, which got slightly scratched in the short time I didn't have a screen protector on it. I think Gorilla glass is mandatory on my next phone

On the Z1 it is Gorilla glass underneath, but the anti-shatter film is quite scratch prone and is non-removable. (as nakedmolrat says, it is removable with a hairdryer but you lose the Sony logo, and also the warranty). That is my only real criticism of the Z1 non-compact, as it is marketed as Gorilla Glass but for actual usage, it isn't :(

That does seem strange, covering scratch-proof glass with a scratchable plastic film. I think I'm very sensitive to scratched screens, they really bug me
