so you keep telling us, some of us are just idiots putting up with TW huh, oh thats right I don't use it
timmmay: You said the first link had XXUEMJ5 and XXUBMH1 , then said use XXUEMK9. Since K was higher than J I assumed I should use that one.
Ok, think I've got it now. I'll try it on TWRP tonight or tomorrow... fingers crossed!
timmmay: Yeah I got it now thanks :)
My first experience of Android was a borrowed S3, then an S4. When I got my wife a Moto G with plain Android it seemed ugly, and the lack of basic things like effective one touch toggles made it slow and cumbersome. There are things I don't like about touchwiz, like apps being split and the downloaded apps not being sorted, but I can live with it for the upsides.
timmmay: I had it restore everything from 4.2.2 to 4.4.2. Should I have done that, or should I have selected just my user apps so as not to put a load of crud into the new OS?
If I wanted to try again would I just go into recovery and do a factory reset then set it up again?

You know you can change this right? Jump into the app drawer, hit menu and change how the apps are organized. It defaults to a stupid way.

Apps in touchwiz are split into "standard" and "downloaded". You can sort standard, but not downloaded. The spilt is basically random, some downloaded apps end in the standard area, but not many. Anything on your google account that's downloaded automatically is in the standard area. There's no discernible logic behind it.
