lchiu7: I have the original Surface Pro and it's okay but if budget permits I would upgrade to the SP3 (or maybe 4?).

For Android I still use my Nexus 7 (2013) which I find almost perfect for mobile use viz. e-mail, surfing the net and watching video content online such as from my server and Netflix, Amazon etc.

Even with Lollipop it hasn't slown down and I think it's on the list for Marshmallow.

I still even have my original Motorola Xoom in use which I rooted and flashed with TeamEOS.

It sits in a dock in my family room showing a clock :-) It's connected via HDMI to my TV so I can display content from the device on the TV for apps that don't support Chromecast like the ITV player and also connects apps to that same TV using a Chromecast. Finally I stream Google Music on it via HDMI to my AVR. There's life in the old girl yet :-)

Marshmmallow has already been released (factory image) for Nexus 2013, just flashed it yesterday and all looks good (so far)

I am looking for a secondary tablet to my primary Surface 3. When my medical condition causes my wrists to get very painful the Surface is too heavy to use. I am looking at options for a very light device, currently considering either the iPad Air 2 or the iPad Mini 4.

I just bought an Asus Zenpad S8 from Amazon - $330NZ inc delivery, ordered on Thursday, delivered on Monday.

Haven't used it much yet, but seems like a very nice tablet - beautiful screen, very responsive, very thin & light

I think I will wait till OTA. I can't bear the thought of having to factory reset the tablet again and re-installing all apps and data when Lollipop is just fine for me at the moment.

Its not even morning tea time yet and I've just force-rebooted my laptop for the third time because it keeps freezing.
I'm thinking now a tablet-laptop hybrid device might be a good idea.
In real life are hybrids as useful and practical as they seem in the glossy brochures?

If you have a hybrid, do you find you use it mostly as a laptop or a tablet?

Delete cookies?! Are you insane?!

Laptop. I use touch features only 5% but they have changed the way I interact and I would not go back to mouse only.

40% laptop / 60% tablet (although I do a lot of reading for work). The Surface is very flexible as a tablet. You can watch Netflix or work on Excel spreadsheets.

My views (except when I am looking out their windows) are not those of my employer.

I'ts probably because my Surface Pro is Gen 1 but when I put Windows 10 into tablet mode, I don't find it that easy to use. But then SP1 is quite heavy compared with the SP3 or Sp4. If I could afford one of those my opinion on touch for Windows might change.

I have an air 2 and it is very light compared to the older ipads 1-4. However the battery life isn't as good as some of the older ones, which I suspect is due to it being smaller and lighter, and the battery being smaller. The air 2 is faster than the mini 4, and before the price rise a month or so ago, it was around the same price.
