I've got the beta running on a 16GB USB3 stick plugged into an i5-based laptop with 8GB of RAM.

It lags a bit when it has to read / write TOO much from the USB stick.....but otherwise it works well. I downloaded the Google Play store installer apk from XDA (Remix forum). It installed everything ok. There were a couple of errors....but if you just breathe for a coule of minutes the background setup done by Google Services appears to catch up. At one point it told me I needed Google Services or my Gmail wouldn't work and that the services weren't compatible with my device. I closed the warning and read my email......so "No" didn't mean "No" in this case.

It's all stable. Not hellish fast.....but everything works that can work on a laptop instead of a phone.

I've left my BT client seeding the torrent and will let it run for a day or two......

I bet you that the lag is all due to the USB Stick. I have a 32GB Sandisk USB 3.0 stick, and Remix ran pretty slow on it. It was fine once it booted up, but if I did anything that would cause a write to the stick, it'd lag like crazy. So I switched to my Mushkin Ventura Ultra instead, and it was super-fast. Absolutely no lag at all.

I'm trying to see if I can multi-boot Remix with other Linux ISOs on my Mushkin .. would be nice to have just once stick to rule them all. :)

Sandisk appear to have issues with Windows Installations and Some other operating systems because it doesn't identify itself as normal removable storage. Use another brand.

I think you're right. Just realised my daughter's old laptop may not have USB3 at all. So I may well be running it on USB2. That would explain the occasional lag patch.

Running awesomely dual boot. Had a few issues getting MS word / excel / OneDrive (for buisness) up and running. Getting Google services up and running is easy peasy.

Boot times are fantastic, shame no access to the rest of the NTFS harddrive - thought truth be told, i haven't looked into it at all.
