afe66: I'm heading to UK in November and was pondering whether I could buy the latest Pixel then.
Are they available from shops or will I have to buy online and send to UK address ?

I am doing the same and thought that maybe I can get the Pixel in the UK; however checking the current price of the 2XL in the store ...it is significantly more expensive option compared to even Australia

There's 20% VAT remember - which you can claim most of back as a tourist when you leave if you can get the correct paperwork.

Anyway back to the topic... and Fast charging problems for Pixel XL on Pie:

Android Police:Update x2: Will be fixed soon: 2016 Pixel XL owners experiencing issues with quick chargers after Android Pie update: We're aware of an issue where non-Power Delivery (PD) USB-C chargers no longer rapidly charge the 2016 Pixel and Pixel XL after the upgrade to Android 9 Pie. The 18W rapid charger included in-box is a PD charger and does not exhibit this behavior. We are verifying a fix for non-PD USB-C chargers and will roll it out in the coming weeks.

I've had some teething problems getting used to the new bluetooth. All existing devices must be manually connected before they will automatically connect again under the new os. That's easy once you know. The new volume memory per device is working well.

The bluetooth icon no longer appears on the status bar when bluetooth is enabled. It appears only when bluetooth is enabled and a device is connected. That's new. When pulling down the toggle tray there is no bluetooth indicator on the status bar. The mobile network strength is in the lower left of the toggle tray. Feels weird.

That's all good. Then, I've had problems with bluetooth simply not working at all when it is enabled.. I believe that may be related to sequences of switching flight mode and mobile data. Early days with that one and it's possible I'm mistaken and it's related to particular devices. I will delete those, then re-add next time I need them. Automatic connection process may have changed as well. Nearly there...

I'm loving the new bluetooth audio memory! I did have to manually reconnect most devices.

Just turned the 'swipe up on the home button' feature - it's like the Blackberry 'swipe up' function which was the thing missed most about blackberry.

It complements the swipe down motion on the rear fingerprint sensor on the pixel 2XL, and makes the new recent apps layout make a whole lot more sense.

I got it from XDA  dev site  there are many custom roms  available but its not the stock rom but closest to stock and these are based on AOSP ,

and there are other plenty of version available  ( caution  there is always a risk of losing IMEI and baseband Volte etc ) + it need unlocked bootloader and custom recovery so always recommended to backup the stock rom

Cam however is not perfect it have some blurring issue not very clear,

there are 3 types available one is android 9 other are android 8 and 8.1 and android 7 is also available.

best regard
