They really have gone full mental size mode this year. We use to mock phablets. Now they basically all are!

I'd love this package (+sim2 + NFC for more carrot dangle) in a slightly smaller formfactor. Sure they make pants to fit larger ones now, but still nice to have a 5.8 be about the same as my walletspace

moto 6p has my attention for a move from my Moto X (gen2) to give me all that. But has a 'its now too old' sort of feel to it

Yes, tend to agree on the size trend. 6.3" is getting up there, for sure.

Cheers mate. I was leaning towards the Huawei, just the lack of 5ghz wifi was putting my off a bit although it won't make a huge amount of difference if I'm being honest.

No worries. Think it'd bother me personally, but I have fairly extensive demands of phones! There's the Nova 3 non-i as well which steps up to bigger battery, faster charging, better cameras, slightly sleeker design, 6GB RAM, and the same processor as in the P20/P20/Mate 10/Pro - and does have 5GHz. Huawei have been killing it this year.

Bring on the next trick up their sleeves.

Quick question @NikT. How does the 3i perform streaming video with no 5ghz wifi?

To be fair this is partly the market and vendors' fault for not figuring out how to message the change in aspect ratio, phones have not actually gotten that much bigger in terms of footprint in the last 12-24 months. A 6" 18:9 phone has the same width as a 5.5" 16:9 phone and will fit in the same footprint - or even smaller, considering how gigantic the 2015-era Plus iPhone reference design is in comparison. There needs to be a better way to indicate the key factors of height and width and to compare with existing devices. GSMArena's footprint comparison is rather good.

Hard to say as it'll depend on your home network setup - how much interference there is on 2.4GHz, the range at which it used, the materials in your walls, the AP you're using etc. If you use an existing device which supports 802.11n speeds on your 2.4GHz WLAN you should get an indication.

Cheers mate. One final question. :) I've just had a look on the PBTech website and see you've got the M6 Note 4GB ram 64GB storage on special for $378.99. How good is this phone? I've had a good run from my M3s so would definitely consider another Meizu, especially at this price.

Phones can get too big.  I have kept my old Samsung S3 phone to use as an alarm clock and camera, & every time I pick it up I think what a perfect shape and size for my hands. (I have Donald Trump size hands!)

Interesting I have a nova 3i here. Funny thing is I could not install Antutu from the store. Tried after reboot, after reset. All other apps install fine.

I can test streaming for you but will probably have no problems being on a "clean" wireless environment...

Thank you. So confusing buying a mid range phone. There are just so many options nowadays. The 3i is still at top of the list though.

Funny you should say that.

NikT says they didn't change in last month like we all fork our $800+ annually for a new device :p

Reason I made the comment heh. S3 as a data tether on my private acct. Moto X for work Sim (but self purchased)

Despite the motoX being the equiv of the nexus5/S5. 5.2/5.6 sizeish just... Works.

It's just starting to let me down with battery stamina and typical Google updates now making phone near unusable when network state changes and everything phones home at once. (Yep got a lot of state change options off)

Ended up with an Oppo A75. PBTech had them on special at $389 down from $499. Bit of a no brainer at that price.

Hello,

I purchased a Huawei nova 3i a few days ago and I'm loving a lot of the features it has.

However 2 days ago I noticed that something does not sound right when listening to music. All of a sudden the sound changes and it has this "box" sound as if coming out of a box (can't describe it better, sorry).

First I thought it's the bluetooth but then test listened again with aux cable and then just by itself and it did it again. An example: it sounds normal, then suddenly changes, then I receive a notification so it goes silent for a moment then the sound is normal again then after a few songs it changes to that box sound again. Annoying.

So before I do a factory reset or return it to the retaler I'd like to find out if it's a "feature" or a bug...

If it's a feature, where can I turn it off. I searched for sound settings but can't seem to find anything related.

Thanks!!! cool
