That case means it won’t sit flat on a table when open.

Actually, based on this video it looks like it will be flush and will sit flat! Definitely a big improvement but still waiting for the day the Fold has a S Pen silo.

When closed, yes. But when open, as the previous comentator surmised, it will pivot up/down in the centre. Not a great deal mind you, but it won't be flat.

Has anyone seen the new devices in any of the stores so far?

It may take time for the demo units to be set up instore since Samsung reps need to install them

I note Noel Leeming (or at least their store in Featherston St, Wellington) have demo units in stock currently

I was vaguely hoping it would be so good it would tempt me from my iPhone. However it’s so similar to the last one that it won’t.

Had a play at Spark today with both.

Very nice without the gap.

Otherwise pretty much the same as Z3 and Flip 3.

I got to say the Flip 4's new larger outer screen is a winner.

I'm not convinced the folding screen tech is durable so it'll be another wait and see for me.

Same here, after seeing my wife's ZF3 needing its screen protector replaced just after a year's usage, have my reservations.

Yeah you can replace it yourself but it's still very fragile and I've seen the number of people having issues with the screen itself often around the 1 year mark.

Still feels too experimental to splash my cash on it. Although I think the devices are awesome.

Ehh, I can attest as one of the good cases as I've had a flip 3 as a my personal device for the past two years and it's survived moshpits, hikes, and other adventures. No issues with the screen or the screen protector aside from normal wear and tear.

Again YMMV but it's been hard for me to go back to a slab phone with how pocketable this thing is!

My better half said to me what a hassle it would be to flip the phone open and closed.

She obviously isn't the target audience, lol. But she has a point.

I think we solved that with books.

I didn't want to sleep in the dog house so I just went with it.

Anybody got it shipped yet?  What colour have you went for? I went for online exclusive grey colour. Tempted by the matte frame :)

First year I won't be buying a Fold.  Not compelling enough really.  The 4 is still a beast anyway.
