TheUngeek: I have: Menu -> more and then the options:
clear map
starred items
labs
help
terms privacy etc
about

Nothing about caching or any boxes to tick in those.....
Do I have an old version or something? version 4.1.0

Firstly it only works in the Brut Mod version of Maps.  This is the one that also allows international turn-by-turn navigation.
If you are using that mod then it is in Menu->More->Brut Mod and there are check boxes for 'read map from cache' and 'save map to cache'.  Then bring up the maps you are wanting to cache while on wifi and it loads the tiles and caches them.
I am running version 4.3.0-brut14

Hmm very odd. I am definitely running the Brut mod, and have used the Nav function and it works fine. Even with data turned off.
I am correct in that I should be able to store multiple maps and select them from cache at any time? Thats what I can't do.
I can load a map, turn off data and use that map. Once I exit that map however, it's gone.
