peejayw: Anyone with a "real" Eken M001 as opposed to a clone? I heard that the real Eken ran 600mhz versus 300 for the clones, can anyone confirm that?

I can't confirm it. No.

The VIA MW8505 processor claims to run at 533MHz - according to the source code and any marketing materials.

This has now been admitted by VIA (according to 'projectgus') to be an "error" (a.k.a. lie....hard to see how you'd get that so very very wrong.)

It actually runs - supposedly at 350MHz and can be overclocked reliably to 387MHz....according to "projectgus", at Slatedroid, who modded the stock kernel source code for the VIA MW8505.

So...if the 'real' Eken M001 has the same processor, it won't be going any faster.

+1 appmonster

You may still have to download a few protected, paid apps if you bought any.

I've just downloaded that new firmware. I may give it a try tonight. Probably can't be as good as the LFD 2.0 with swap partition and overclock, but it would be interesting to see what progress they have made. Easy enough to reflash LFD back onto it.

Cloud spending continues to surge globally, but most organisations haven’t made the changes necessary to maximise the value and cost-efficiency benefits of their cloud investments. Download the whitepaper From Overspend to Advantage now.

Did you ever try this firmware, how was it?
