ali7: Hi there,

can someone please help me resolve this audio issue I have now due to Navigon and its not only affecting navigon, it is infact affecting my normal operation also. like if I am listning to music and if a calls come in, the music dose'nt pause

Have TNZ version of Froyo on SGS, No Lagfix, Not rooted

Try uninstalling Navigon. Use the market app to locate your downloads, select Navigon from the list, select uninstall and let it do its thing. Reboot your phone. Put on some music and ring yourself from your landline to test.

If that hasn't sorted it, download Navigon again and re-install it. Make sure you're on wifi as it'll download the maps again.

If there was a problem with the original install, often an uninstall and re-install will sort it.

Let us know how you fare.

Cheers,
R2D2

Thanks for the reply I just tried restarting the phone and it was good as far as music player and the voice calls go together, but the navigon and music still the same. I was wondering how did the bug report went with Navigon, looks like the update has not changed anything, just to confirm are you guys still have the voice bug or is it only me.

Thanks RD2D

Hi ali7.

Glad you got some of the sound attenuation issues sorted.

Navigon has a code problem (bug) that manifests itself in allowing the system sounds to return to normal volume ~1000ms (1 second) too early, after attenuating those same sounds to allow the TTS synth to do its thing. There's no available workaround to fix this issue, so if turn-by-turn is important to you (and it is to me) then leave the SGS's radio and media player off when navigating and use your vehicle's radio/CD for music instead.

The code as currently executed abruptly cuts the system sounds rather than fading the level down to a value low enough to ensure legibility then fading the system sounds back up. So there clearly is an element of 'beta' about this version of the Navigon software that's not apparent in other versions.

As you mention, I've filed a bug report and had the report acknowledged, so hopefully this will be fixed in the next release/update. If I hear something back from the developers directly, I'll post in this thread. I don't believe it's a major issue, though how it was missed during testing is something of a mystery.

If you're a religious person, prayer might help, but failing that, it'll be down to patience I think. :D

Cheers,
R2D2

Galaxy S has gone to its new owner. HTC Sensation has gone to its new
owner. Galaxy S3 has gone to its new owner. Now using Galaxy Note 3. Skipping Note 4 I think...
