Two finger rotation can be done..

You can enable on rooted N1, I did, it works.. sortta, and now pinch zooming can rotate the map at weird angles, I see why google said no =)

As an aside I had a chance to experience Maps with 3D on my N1 while in Vegas and it's very cool. Even with the saturated Tmobile 3G network with every man and their dogs with their smartphone trying to get mail, do Fscrb, Twitter and foursquare, the rendering was smooth and seamless. I guess this is testimony to the vector graphics Maps 5.0 uses.
