So far so good.
Don't think I have the SD card set up right though
I ran the script from here:
https://sites.google.com/site/romredux/wiki/sd-card-partitioning

But I can't see that it's done anything. plugging into usb doesn't show a partition nor can I see one on Astro.

Hmmm and now found I cannot connect to WiFi at work. Won't even pick it up. WiFi at home was no problem.

I was wondering if it was something to do with the partition issue.
Found a good source of info here:
http://androidforums.com/desire-all-things-root/220627-faq-apps2sd-updated-16th-may-2011-a.html

So will read up on that lot tonight.

The WiFi thing is the only thin I'm really annoyed with so far. 3g is so slow and patchy where I work.

Try resetting the modem... Its not a reduce issue. What radio are you using?

Can't touch the modem. I might be sneaking the Wifi ;)
But it was working fine up until I go to work today.
5.11.05.27 is my radio
Seems a few others have had WiFi issues, albeit not working at all.
I'll try a reflash as that seems to be the common thing that's fixing peoples issues.

Updated to 5.17.05.23 and even managed to restart the modem. No change...
Very odd that it can't see the signal at all

No I don't
Previously it acted just like any WiFi network anywhere.
Turn on WiFi and there it was.
Am home now and and WiFi fine here. I will go to a mates place some time in the next few days and see what it does on another network.

So far I really like redux, I can work around the dimness issue by just waking and sleeping it until it's bright, only have to do that max 3 times. So I can live with it.

*sigh*
So far not one single step of this process has worked the way the instructions has said it would....

Am now trying to get Gparted to work.
This is the first linux thing I have ever done.
I have tried burning the files to the cd. No go.
I tried one method of creating the gparted USB. No go.
Neither will boot.

Does anyone have a tried and tested fool proof way of running Gparted?

install Ubuntu.. much easier. then just uninstall it if you don't like. you don't need to partition your hard drive anymore.

And I cannot open the sounds options in main menu as it FC's everytime
