networkn: Ooh :) Chainfire, you are getting famous :)

If you are still keen I have my 8.9 here. I am curious are they identical screens other than size?

Cheers

Oh yes, completely forgot - always keen to get my hands on some different hardware!

They are different, the 7.7 is SAMOLED HD+, the 8.9 is a PLS LCD. The PLS display is very nice, but I don't think it's quite as good as the Prime's LCD display and the Prime's looks ordinary compared to the 7.7's screen.

I feel sad you wrote that about the 8.9" screen, now I feel like I need the 7.7 :)

Don't sweat it :)

I'm sure without the 7.7 beside it the 8.9's screen looks great, just as the Prime's does.

Hi folks,

mine has locked up and I can't reset it. with so few buttons to choose from I've tried volume up and down along with the power button but no luck, any tips? It's only 7 days old so I'll take it back to the shop if it doesn't come to life.

ps. no custom ROM or rooting activities have been performed, just facebook, IMDB, vodafone, Air NZ and iTap installed

Neither volume up nor down with power cause a reset, I let it go completely flat and that reset it and now it's running again.

Does anyone know where I can get additional genuine Samsung tablet chargers?

I put a 32GB SD card in full of music, the magnitude of content caused the player to hang for looong periods, so I have removed it leaving about 20 albumns on the device, however, the player still shows all the albumns from the SD card, do anyone have a trick for refreshing the library (note: I wanted for the media refresh dialogue to complete before opening).

From memory you just delete the app data for the media scanner service in Manage Applications in settings. After that my suggestion is to install PowerAMP, it has it's own (superior) media scanner and lets you exlude your music folders from the system scanner.

Also, a 32GB card full of music should not cause problems. Certainly not in PowerAMP, and even from the stock player. Never did for me and I had something like 6000 tracks on it.

Thanks, the application data clearing worked.

What OS version are you running? I'm still on (OoTB) 3.2.

I've got JB (CM10) on my 1G Galaxy Tab 7". It's pretty nice.

Don't have my 7.7 anymore. Still miss it a little bit, may well look at it's successor in a 3G flavour when it comes.
