MurrayM: Samsung Galaxy S3 to get MultiView, Smart Rotation

Omega Rom with 4.1.2 is out: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1663656

Hi Lokhor, I see the Omega dev credits Wanam with a few parts of Omega, have you (or anybody in here) tried both and if so can you give a couple reasons as to why you prefer either?

I have used Wanam for a while now and find it super stable, and the latest is giving really good battery life, but thinking it wouldn't hurt to try Omega if it is as good.

I have used omega and wanamlite, I liked both, I have wanam presently and see no reason to change. He will have 4.1.2 shortly I'd imagine and once I see the number of issues posting starting to drop I'll jump.

I prefer Omega because the Omega Files Kitchen app lets you customise it a lot and the default theme is nicer imo

I think I'll wait for the official release instead of leaked ROM :)
Not really in a hurry to get it. Loving the JB UK so far.

Thanks, might give it a go then, you can never have too much customisation ;)

Omega roms are pretty good but the themes and boot animated robot, pure cheese. Prefer not to have my phone branded by omega.

I agree, for me Wanamlite 4.x + Vertumus Domination makes my white s3 look sleek with the black theme and no unnecessary branding infact I rename all the boot files to have no branding at all (and slightly faster boot).

I have tried all of the top roms including omega, android revolution, viking, check. Wanam seems to be the "true lite" base that doesnt just remove system services/apps for space sake making it easier to customise to my needs for a minimal rom than other roms.

Side Note: Has anyone noticed a bug in XXDLJ5 for smart stay. I have smart stay off by default, I have noticed when my screen rotates the smart stay eye pops up in the status bar even though it should be off and then comes back on when I rotate back to portrait.

just install the base rom, it's pretty much stock in appearance. a boot animationis just that.. not a major.

i'm a fan of omega however trying criskelo at the moment. runs pretty smooth. kitchen has some nice options to try eg modems, kernels, note 2 gallery etc.

going to try the omega 4.1.2 tonight.

left channel... of just the supplied headphones, or all headphones? (which i'm guessing it is)

yes, factory reset, and make sure you back up data on the internal sd first, as a factory reset will wipe everything.
