Damager:mattwnz:friendlymonkey:mattwnz: Anyone know how/when we will get jellybean update for unlocked samsung s3's? The one I have got was purchased from DSE, so is not a parallel imported, nor is it tied to any network, although I am using it on vodafones network. SO I pressume the update is supposed to come directly from samsung, but there are no updates available for it. Updates are so much easier to understand with apple products.
Trying to work out the same thing here. My partner has a red one from dse also. I believe dse have parallel imported them. Trying to figure out where from..
I didn't realise they were parallel imports as they weren't advertised as such. They were on;y advertised as 'unlocked' I thought there were laws that required them to advertise if that goods are parallel imported or not, as you don't get the same consumer protection as the local supplier in NZ may not support them, eg if the retailer ever went under
What's the firmware noted in the settings??

It's
Android 4.0.4
SMP PREEMPT Tue Aug 21 17:04:13 KST 2012
Build number
IMM76D.I9300XXBLH3
Apparently from google this makes it the international version.
IntegerIsNumber: For those who are waiting for Vodafone firmware 4.1.1 you might get it sometimes this week or next week.

Australia is getting their today. So I think Vodafone NZ could also be on the same queue with the Vodafone AU. Though, VAU and VNZ are not related :)
Wade: There's an unofficial version of 4.1.2 floating around now, installed it yesterday and it is full of win!! Far more "buttery" than 4.1.1 plus it has inherited multi window, gallery and a couple of other apps from the Note II

I'm on 4.1.2 as well. Been on this since 2 weeks ago.
There are still some inconsistency of smoothness of the transition and the firmware. But for a leak it is by far the best leak firmware so far.
New things:
*Multi view
*Panorama photo change/Camera app revamp
*customisable notification bar shortcuts
*Gallery update to Note2 and fixed fullscreen issue
*Video player is zoomable (pinch to zoom when playing movie in fullscreen)
*UI transition frame rate increase
*New motion mode
*All Share cast/Group Cast
*and a few more
I just wish multiview can support all apps.

ethannz: My red Samsung Galaxy S3 from dick smith is running stock 4.1. I had to manually check for update, there's no prompt or anything saying the update is available. Took about 15 minutes to download and 5 to install. MY understanding is that they are generic UK devices, which have got the 4.1 update
