WinPhne:For those interested, new bixby update now allows you to change the physical key map to only open app when you press twice!
Hi WinPhne. I'm not familiar with Bixby yet, but I have accidentally pressed that damn button a few times. Can you please tell me how to do this? I have received the update but I'm not sure where to find Bixby settings. When I press the Bixby button I get a blank looking coloured screen but no menu or settings button. I searched Bixby in my apps and there was no result. Thanks.
EDIT - pressed the button again but this time waited instead of exiting the screen within a few seconds. After about 10 secs it welcomed me and brought up my gmail with an arrow to press which I assume sets it all up. I exited that for now without proceeding. Had a brief look at what Bixby does on google and am not that interested atm. But it would be good to know how to change the button to needing 2 presses if you wouldn't mind sharing - thanks!

I have mine setup so not sure if you can do it without setting up. Once you get into it go to the settings page (three dots on top right in the app) and change bixby key setting.

So last night I was walking to get some butter chicken as you do, had my Sennheiser Momentum headphones on and listening to some sweet music. Only to find that the music would keep "skipping" (I'm not sure of the correct term to describe it) quite frequently, like the Bluetooth signal was weak or something. I never had this issue while just sitting and using the headphones, only while I was walking, phone was in my pocket. Can't tell if this is a problem with the headphones or the Note 9. Anyone else experience this issue?
Hey, sorry to bump an old comment/thread as a first-time poster, but I was having massive problems with my Note 9 + the Sennheisers that came with it (I was a PBtech preorder customer), and this was the only mention I could find of someone with the same issue.
The Momentums are my 5th pair of BT headphones, and I'd never had any kind of stutter previously when just walking with a phone in my pocket. With the Sennheisers, the stutter was so bad that audio was unlistenable. I had to start carrying the phone in my right hand, because using my left hand would cause stutter when my hand swung back to my side, putting my body between the phone+headphones 😖. Then I started to wear a backpack on walks with the phone positioned carefully in the right-side pocket, purely so that it was sitting closer to the headphones and (mostly) stutter-free. I could even have it sitting on a block outside when I'm doing yard work with clear line of sight to me, but if I got any more than 5m away, or turned so my right side was facing away from the phone, the audio would start to stutter.
Yet, if I tried an old pair of BT headphones - 2-3 year old Jabra Move - they worked completely fine from almost any distance (within reason) I threw at them, which made me think it was an issue with the Sennheisers rather than the Note. I've been putting up with this since I received the units back in August, but it finally drove me mad enough yesterday when out on a walk (and my phone moved from its perfect alignment in my bag) to investigate further.
Googling either Note 9 or Momentum 2 BT issues didn't turn up a lot (though there was heaps on the original Momentums, and the Note 8), but I did eventually manage to find a solution on the Samsung community forums. I can't link to it because I'm new, but search those forums for "Note 9 bluetooth audio bug" if you want to find the original post. The steps I followed are basically:
So I'm not sure what the actual issue is/was, given the Jabras were ok, the Sennheisers weren't, and clearing caches/data on the phone fixed the issue (BT version compatibility issues perhaps?), but these steps seemed to resolve the connectivity issues for me. The post I took these steps from was for the Note 9 connecting via BT to a home theatre, so these should hopefully sort any BT connection issues, not just to do with Momentums.
Anyway, hope this helps if anyone is out there having similar issues, I was beginning to suspect a faulty BT radio with how unlistenable it was.
As an aside, still loving the Note 9, and the quality coming from the Sennheisers (when they're not stuttering) is awesome 👌 I bought the Whitestone Dome glass and a Tech 21 case for my Note and they look great. Also managed to get about $460 trade-in value for my old, parallel imported, banged up S7 Edge which was awesome - I just did a DIY $30ish back glass replacement, but the front glass was still smashed up quite badly (hence the upgrade to the Note 9). Was stoked when they approved the B grade!
Cheers!
Thanks for that. I had the odd cut out on the 550s, nothing as bad as you had but I have never had a single cut out with the Sony 1000x. Have just done all the force stopping and cache clearing.
Being the cheap bastard I am I sold my old phone on TM, brought the cheapest one they would accept (S5) and then traded that in for about $400. I am also loving the Note 9!
Update on my fix above - after a week (used the headphones for roughly 1-1.5 hours total each day), the problem has returned :( It started happening again gradually on days 5-6, where it would just occasionally stutter but recover pretty quickly. A full week on though, and I'm back to where it was before - can't put it in the pocket without it stuttering constantly.
So I got it home, repeated the fix, and it seems like it's working smoothly again. Looks like this might have to be a thing I do every 4-5 days. Something to do with that cache/data filling up that causes the connection to go wonky, I guess.
Let me know if I should start a separate topic for this, but - is anyone else having similar problems with their bluetooth devices connecting to their Note? Or even using the Momentum Wireless with the Note 9 without any issues? I'd be interested to try and narrow down what might be triggering the problem, see if I can at least mitigate it. Will start connecting the headphones to other devices to see if I can replicate in the meantime.
I have a Gear S3 watch which is pretty much connected by BT at all times, but otherwise only a few other things aside from the headphones connect to the phone sporadically - UE Boom Speaker, an Echo Plus, and my car stereo.
Thanks so much for digging into this problem. It really pissed me off while I was travelling over the last month, I had to resort to using the cable sometimes to eliminate the stutter.
I'll try the fix you mentioned and see how it goes. Seems like Samsung need to fix something with their Bluetooth connectivity.
I have some Jaybird X3s which every so often cut out for a second. Very annoying.

I would be tempted to return the headphones if I was you. I gave mine to the wife and she is using them on her surface laptop. No complaints about disconnects so far.
Anther bizzar thing my note 9 does is the music or podcast just stops. When I press the volume key it starts again. I think the app is being shut down in the background by the samsung app management but I have't dug into it further.
No disconnects on my sony 1000x headphones. Millions of disconnects on my sony true wireless earbuds (wf-1000x) but they are known for that and it's mostly disconnects between the two ear buds rather than from phone to earbuds.
$1369 at Harvey Norman until the 31st October.
JB Hi-Fi will price match too.
I accidentally bought a note 9 today for my SO.
We'd given away our spare small TV and were missing it a bit, then she also wanted a new cellphone for personal use, as using a work phone for private use when you're a public servant has some potential fish hooks.
Dropped in at HN. Didn't realise that some TVs have DVB-s built in - useful to save clutter, Samsung model seemed to do the trick for about $900 - said I'd take one - but zero stock, so no - I'll keep shopping.
Stopped in at NL, I'd forgotten about the free TV deal with 2 deg if you buy an s9/+/note etc. Turns out that was the same TV as I was going to buy for $900 at HN. NL had a price sticker of $1250 or whatever - LOL - doesn't matter. Walked out with a Note 9 and the TV I was going to buy anyway should be delivered in a couple of days. Great deal - though probably only if you happen to want or have need for the TV as well.
She dropped in on her way out and picked up the phone which I'd charged and done basic setup. She's at an important meeting (hairdresser) and texting me - "what an awesome phone".
