ibuksh: Had a random reboot while using viber today..

If viber had stopped working.. fair enough.. but a random reboot...!!! that was wierd.. coz its the first random reboot since the last official update..

fingers crossed if it has to die, it better dies within the next 2 weeks coz my handset warranty expires after that...

I've had Viber reboot my phone several times now, usually when I'm trying to add a photo from my gallery to a conversation.

Also Skype make your phone get blue screen at times and crash your phone as well.

Yup.. adding a foto to a conversation definitely reboots the phone

and also the blue it flashes is more like the facebook blue shade rather than the skype blue shade..

Make sure you are using ' vodafone ' APN not ' www.vodafone.net.nz '

So my 13 month S3's headphone jack has stopped working which is a bummer. Only the left ear gets any sound. If you put pressure on the headphone by pushing the jack in, I get sound on both ears.

I tried cleaning the jack out but hasn't really worked. Any tips or solutions? Really sucks as I used my S3 for music and videos a lot.

Send it for warranty. It is 2years if it is bought locally (Vodafone or Telecom). I rung Samsung about my frame cracked and button flushing in AMD the rep told me that I have two years warranty on all NZ model S3.

I run both Viber and Skype and have never had a reboot problem due to those apps.

As a matter of interest I posted another thread on a recent problem I had trying to get a Personal Hot spot connection  from my stock standard S3 to an Asus Vivo TF600 Windows RT Tablet.
In the end we got it going but brought up some interesting comments

I dropped my S3 last weekend and the glass is now cracked but fortunately enough for me, the handset is still working. I took it to OMNI mobile repairs and they quoted me $380 saying it needs a full screen and glass replacement even though the screen is intact and its just the glass that needs replacing.

I have looked around and just the glass on trademe is just $40 and I have seen how to install it on youtube.

I would just like to know if anyone has installed the glass that he/she bought on trademe..?

And if yes then how is the useability of it... I mean touch sensitivity and swiping and all..

Would appreciate some feedback
