Awesome phone ☺

Only issue I noticed is that if you use a wired earphone that comes with microphone and remote, the earphone is not recognized.

Is anyone else also having this issue?

Thanks

John

Heathsplosion: Got my 6P yesterday and my Chromecast <– which is awesome because I just sold my Razer Forge TV I was using as a Chromecast. The 6P is a thing of beauty. Thanks Geekzone, Hauwei, and 2 Degrees… I'm thrilled.

However I need your guy's help. I switched from iPhone to a Nexus 6 earlier in the year. Now I'm upgrading to the 6P. I'm used to setting up new iPhones, where you just restore your new phone from a backup of the old phone, and you're all done (except for a few passwords and setting up your fingerprint again).

I setup the 6P last night using the 'Set up nearby device' option to restore the 6P from my Nexus 6. But I was shocked when none of my app data was migrated. I'm looking at app tutorials when I open them as if I've never used them. I assumed something went wrong. I factory reset the phone, and did it again. Same thing.

I've tried using Helium to migrate the app data, but it refuses to work.

So now I turn to you guys. How can I migrate EVERYTHING possible? (Both are on M, everything's up-to-date).

I left my 6P at home as I refuse to switch to it until it's ready cry

That's just the way it is frown. If you root your phones, you can use Titanium Backup to migrate everything, but the rooting process wipes the phone - it can be done, but it's a real pain. The set up nearby device should transfer all of your old apps, but not all of them will transfer settings and data. I move SD card data over by transferring them via a PC.

Just think of it as an opportunity to clean up your apps - remove stuff you really don't want and keep your new device uncluttered and fast. wink

TopShelfCookieJar: Hmm, good point. I don't think I did. And I'll need one to claim back through my company too.

I rang 2d and asked for a receipt. They're going to send one out.

FazerDude: So has anyone claimed their 2degrees scratchy freebie? I haven't tried my code yet, but I'm assuming that it will be some bonus 2degrees credit or similar. Does anyone know for sure. I don't have a 2degrees account, so it may not be of any use to me.

I did, its a 10$ International calling pack valid for a month. Ill never use it.

I got a $19 carryover combo stacked on top of my current one :P

None of these are of any use to me. Does anyone want my code?

I didn't receive the Chromecast package either. I rang on Tuesday and was told by the guy that sold me the phone the week before that not all of the telesales team knew about that particular offer and so it wasn't sent out to me. However, he's raising this with his manager so I'm waiting to hear back on the outcome of that.

I'm just glad the phone got here (Wellington) on Tuesday. Although 2D had the right address, somewhere along the way it was mixed up with a similar address in Lower Hutt (!). Luckily 2D was able to contact the Courier and sort it before leaving Auckland.

Thank you! 2degrees, Geekzone and Huawei

That's bizzare - I'm loathe to call 2Degrees yet again (I had a postal mixup too and unfortunately they did not catch it before it leaving Akl so only arrived today..), so I've just messaged 2dgrees via geekzone so hopefully they can give me a heads up.

edit: spelling

Has anyone that placed there order over the phone and got the phone on a plan still not received a shipping email?

I have rung 3 times now and was rung on Tuesday to say that it was all sorted, yet still nothing. Now because I'm in the south island I will not be getting the phone until next week.

Its getting to be a bit of a joke. especially because the local 2d store has stock.

Just rung 2D and after being on hold for 20 min I was told its on backorder and the shipment has not been dispatched to NZ yet.yell
So much for getting early access to the phone.

Got shipping email from Google 2 days ago but the track and trace status still no change, showing tracking info not exists. Anyone has ordered from Google store?

I ordered from Google, got my tracking number this morning, same deal Toll shows no tracking info. I'd contact them, it may be the shipping details have been generated but the phone hasn't left yet.

Please use the Nexus 6P Owners thread - this one is only for the 2degrees/Huawei offer.
