errr no. His problem helps me understand that it's a wearables app problem since the update. Him posting that in the Note 8 wouldn't done sweet FA to point that out.

Sorry, do realise note 9 forum but thought info help @Kopkiwi who is having battery drain on galaxy wearable app.

Don't apologize mate, you're absolutely fine to post in here about the battery issues you're having with your Note 8 given I am having the exact same ones with my Note 9. Thanks for confirming it's a software issue.

HI SDavisnz,

Have a look at your comm's try turning off Wi-Fi / Bluetooth and see what happens re battery life. I had a issue with my 46mm turned off Wi-Fi battery lasts much longer, reading on Net suggests if watch moves out of Bluetooth range the battery gets sucked dry while in range its all good, so maybe issues with the Bluetooth connection to the watch with the new OS casing it to hunt for a signal so it is draining  the battery ?.  Its an idea.

For all the others still waiting on the fence (as with I), here's the update from Samsung themselves. The instore pop up stores in malls has zero clue about what 'One UI' is.

If your on gz you should know how to Odin flash and you'll have pie on your phone in an hour, just be patient and wait for them to push it out or go and install it manually.

I am too addicted to the wifi calling to move off the 2 degrees rom. Official update due out in Feb so hopefully we don't have to wait too long...

Thanks for the update @roderickh, I was wondering what was up since they had moved the note 9 from Feb to Jan in the Members notice. Good to know that Jan actually means sometime this quarter haha

I continue to have a very frustrating issues with location based unlocking. Upstairs I can unlock without code, downstairs I require a code to unlock. Any ideas? I have removed the entire location profiles etc...

Are you using google smart lock or Samsung routines? I've had decent luck with Routines (it does a combo of location + wifi connection before unlocking phone)

If its the google unlock smart places you need to add both upstairs and downstairs as a location, your phone knows its a different floor and this is designed for apartment living (i.e. you would not want your phone usable by someone on a different floor of an apartment building).

I am a big fan of smart unlock.  I have location unlock (at home but not work), on body detection and smart unlock on all my bluetooth devices (galaxy watch, headphones and many speakers).  I am always wearing the watch so it's basically a unlocked all the time I am near it and then locks if I walk out of bluetooth range.  If all that fails I have samsung intelligent scan (face + iris scan).  Face unlock is the only thing I don't have on as it's a bit too insecure for me.  Going back to my work iPhone (thankfully the 8 so I still have touch ID) feels very old fashioned to me.

All Australian carriers seem to be getting their Note 9 updates yesterday/today. Hopefully we're not too far away. As with someone else I do like my WiFi calling to just flash another carrier's software...

Looks like we are not getting it in January...  Here I am, frantically pressing the "check for updates" button.  You can cut the tension with a knife.  This is almost worse than waiting for the release.  ARE WE THERE YET!  I WANT AN ICE CREAM!
