You guys should just try installing a few of the good looking games (over a gig each), ebooks/podcasts (a few more gigs) & movies. I've got an HTC One X & I have to carefully juggle how much spare space I have.

Thus I won't be getting the Nexus 4 as it would be a "sideways" move for me. But the second a Nexus phablet comes out then I'll be getting that!

Have an sg3, but will be looking to UPGRADE to the N4.  The key for me is the software updates, and AOSP Android.  I'm on CM10 for the sg3, but there are a few bugs, which can't be ironed out without hardware documentation from Samsung.  Hoping to avoid those issues by going Nexus.

I am pretty sure I will be replacing my N1 with the N4. I dont use my phone for games, movies etc, thats what my tablet is for so I am not fussed about lots of storage on the phone.
That N10 is looking really nice too, wonder if I can get a 2for1 discount?  :-)

I'm supposed to respect my elders, but it's getting harder and harder for me to find one now.

I replaced my N1 with the GN. I am pretty happy with the GN and I only use about 7GB of the 16GB available since anything that is likely to take storage like video, is deleted after viewing. All my music is in  Google Music (some 40GB) which is instantly accessible.

The N4 looks like nice but since the GN is also going to be updated at the moment I can't see any compelling reason to upgrade. Not having a removable battery is something that dissuades me.

Staying in Wellington. Check out my AirBnB in the Wellington CBD.  https://www.airbnb.co.nz/h/wellycbd  PM me and mention GZ to get a 15% discount and no AirBnB charges.

Slightly off topic, but has to do with the Nexus. For you to be able to access your files in the "Clouds" you need to be connected to the internet dont you? So Wi-Fi, 3G etc. There is no way to view them without using data, like being in an "offline" mode?

Most apps will have an offline mode or you can "pin" (download/make avaliable offline) content or albums to the device.

can anyone comment on wifi strength of the new LG nexus

I had earlier bought the samsung nexus and found wifi dropping heavily. For eg , sitting on my bed it would have signal right side of my hand and then will drop signal when i bought it to other side.

I then found that it was a common issue after it got updated to jelly bean

any similar faults on these lines?

Google drive has a "make available offline" option

We'll have to wait for some hands on reviews to find out.
I'm curious on 3g signal strength. My HTC desire A8183 has less than average signal strength on XT, compare to a Galaxy i9000T for example. Given they don't have to fit an LTE antenna it might be better

I'm going to hang out for word on a 32gb model for a while as that could be possible.

When you say one is average...do you mean that according to the indicator on the device or the actually signal strength once measured?

Actual signal strength. The indicators can be a rough guide but don't mean much.
It's still not a totally scientific reading but my phone will often be at -105dbm to -110ish which is on the edge of dropping out and it frequently does
The i9000T on the other hand gets -97 to -103 in the same location, and only drops calls sometimes when the cell site gets particularly overloaded and the coverage shrinks marginally (cell breathing)

Will probably be upgrading from my Sensation to the Nexus 4.

Was pretty tempted to shift to Windows phone or IP5 for a bit of a change, but with the price point on the Nexus 4 it's pretty much a done deal for me.
