I suspect I'd like it a great deal also.

Too bad it seems that Sony have no plans for a successor, if they'd release one same spec as the Z2 + 6.4inch QHD screen, Snapdragon 805 (or even better Tegra K1) and smaller bezels I'd be all over it.

Yeah the "don't like year old hardware" in me wishes for a new model but this is great and unmatched elsewhere and I really like Sony's minimal Android customisation.

I really like the stuff Sony has done, lots of unobtrusive little value-adds like mass memory mode for the external SD when connected to a PC, PS3 controller support. At this point overall I'd still rather stay with my Note 3 (mostly because I have a 256GB SD card in it that requires some case mods to accommodate), but with a Moto 360 coming soon I will really have little reason to stay away from an even larger screen, so an updated Z Ultra would be very high in the running for me in a few months time. I'm almost at the point of just having clothes tailored to accommodate something like the Galaxy Tab S 8.4 as my phone to be honest :)

It scares me how in tune you, NikT and I are with our device preferences :-)

We are possibly the sum total of the niche market that feels 5.7 inches is really just not enough on a display, and that 6.4 would be better, or that perhaps pushing up to 6.7 or 7 with tiny bezels might be ideal :)

Yes im happy with the current Note 3. Would love to try a bigger device but I cant quite justify the money in this case.

Man, even though it's the non-4G version Mobicity is tempting me badly today offering the Ultra for $379NZD...

Actually, with a promo code which they give you at checkout the price is $369. I know I should resist, but man, it's hard.

Quite interested to see what LG go with the G Pro 3. Given the screen they were able to fit into the G Pro 2 footprint, I'm thinking they put easily tip 6" with a rather small body.

Man, I feel Sony exclusively made this phone for someone like me.. I am 200% happy customer!
I too loved the Note 3 (never owned one but have a device from work) but the Z ultra makes it look like a cheap toy - no offense!

Yes, the Z Ultra is big.. but you use it for 2-3 days and theres no going back.. I personally would never ever go back to anything smaller, that just wont cut it anymore! 6.4" is now my sweet spot for screen size. And the screen is AMAZING!

Other largish phones are not truly flagships and to be honest have nothing more than a large screen - Galaxy Mega 6.3 for example and its just like someone stretched the S4! Sony design is both premium and tasteful which I have fallen in love with.. and the hardware is top notch (compared to phones this time last year)

A year later this might sound over the board, but I think this is the best phone money can buy right now.. and I also know that I will be able to count the number of people with my fingers that'll agree with me but I am glad I put my money in the right place :-)

How do you find the camera quality compared to the Note 3?
