Hi,

I know very little about mobile phones, but if I had a friend buy a Nexus 4 from the Australian Play store and send it over would that still work fine in New Zealand?

My mate said the site says "they've restricted NZ customers from this purchase" and was wondering if that would mean it wouldn't work here for some reason?

I'm on 2degrees btw

Thanks!

Hi, the reason they are restricted to NZ has nothing to do with the tech and all todo with commercial matters.

Short answer is it will work just fine on any network in NZ.

And yes I have a 16g on the way, by the time I got back to working out why the proxy was not working the 8g was all sold out.

Hi guys can someone tell me what the total cost comes to if you buy through the US Play Store and get Youshop to ship to NZ? Thanks!

I dunno what your current contract situation is, but you can get the Nexus 4 for free if you sign onto 2 Degrees' $49/mo carryover plan for 24 months. That's how I recently got mine :)

Yeah I'm only on the $29 carry over, and barely come close to using all the minutes data etc. so wouldn't go for that because of the extra cost...

I can get an 8GB one from Aussie for under $300 NZ, and have a friend bring it over... so think that's best for me. Also unsure I would want to locked into a 24 month plan.

thanks.

Thanks kiwitrc! On another note is anyone getting this error "This device is not for sale at this time." for the N4 16GB? It only appears when I sign into to try buy it.

Does that mean the shipping company has confirmed delivery or Youshop has confirmed receipt?
