Hmmm , since the update my weather app has been playing up. Its a bit hot according to it.

Can't seem to upgrade my S4 using the OTA option. I get the "your device has been modified. Software updates are not availabe" message

Have done all the , remove microSD, wipe cache, factory reset options

The Device Status shows "Custom" and I can't work out how to change it to "Official"

Kies doesn't seem to work either

Going to upgrade it manually using ODIN

Does anyone know where I can get the /I9505XXUFNC6_I9505NZCFNC2_NZC.zip file from (samsmobile gives me a file not found)

I assume that's the 2 Degrees 4.4.2 firmware?

Any other suggestions?

Just thought I would ask a few questions before I dive into this and probably brick my S4.

Last year I reflashed my TNZ phone to 2D Android 4.3 software to get rid of the stock Telecom bloatware apps. I did this using ODIN and had no issues with the process and managed to keep Knox working. Now the phone isn't updating to 2D 4.4.2 via Kies or OTA so I'm downloading a 2D 4.4.2 build from the website in the post above. I'm seeing a lot of other posts getting quite technical about using a lot of different programs and bootloaders to get things done so I'm just checking to make sure the process hasn't changed and I don't screw my phone. I'm not using any custom roms and only want the stock 2D 4.4.2 software so is the process still the same as before, IE can I still use just ODIN or maybe the Mobile ODIN app discussed on the first page?

Thanks in advance for any help.

Cameron, I think using Odin like you did last time is the best way to do it. Don't bother with mobile Odin unless you really need it.

Update on WanamLite 4.4.2: it works pretty much the same as 4.2.2 stock, with slight UI tweaks. There's nothing massive worth upgrading for, I'm hoping reliability increases (seems fine so far). There's no ART runtime :( It's a beta feature so it'll probably come with Android 5 or something. I kept root, Titanium kept a lot of my stuff. I forgot to back up my text messages but that's not really important. Nandroid backup was good to have.

Great, thank you! I've managed to update it fine and Knox is still working (not that I use it, but I would prefer not to break it anyway)

I just found their presence irritating and kind of wanted to tinker with my phone a bit. I also hoped that 2D would have some of their own apps but they run an almost completely stock 4.4.2 build.

The 'Your Telecom' app is 600kb. Hardly bloatware. You can also disable them in the Application Manager, Then they dont show up anymore

Although they do rename the stock browser to Y!Tworld which is kind of annoying

but have had no luck as the file transfer (through Firefox) keeps failing. Have tried both Terafile and RapidGator links with no luck (although the former seems to be faster). The closest I've got is just over 1GB downloaded. Am using the free option

Not sure what the problem is - is there a time limit before the download times out?

Anywhere else I can get the file from?

Yeah I have the same problems alot. Hotfile was better but its gone now :(

Its a shame they dont use http://mega.co.nz thats fast as hell
