The new camera is only risk area. Until tested, no way of knowing how it will stack up.

Samsung know cameras and I'll be pretty surprised if it's rubbish. Early hands on seem to indicate strong performance.

It's definitely time I upgraded my ageing Galaxy Note 2. I use the stylus every now and again so will hold out to see what the next iteration of the Note brings, but otherwise I'm quite liking the look of the S7 Edge.

The models I had in hand were all Android 6.0.1... Samsung says Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge will be on sale in New Zealand on the 11 March, 2016.

Samsung? It was hard enough to get them to pay my hotel in Auckland to stay the extra day to attend this - I was already here for Nate's wedding so they didn't even had to pay flights.

There is still not enough interest for me to move to the S7 , I wonder how many other people will just stick with the S6. Its sort of a plateau where unless there is a major new thing the small increments don't really stack up to moving (well for me anyway).

Be interesting to see then how long before 6.01 is pushed to the S6's

i just got a email now from Samsung that if you pre-order the S7/S7 edge , they throw in a Gear VR free with the order.

For the uninitiated > Gear VR - the big clunky googles thingy to view movies etc

I have just looked at some of the reviews. I can't decide whether I prefer the S7 or the G5 - so will probably wait until they are in store and I can look for myself, and once a few owners have their "real world" experiences with them documented.

They both look like good phones.

The S7 looks like a slick device, has microSD back (yay), but still no removable battery. Also, I understand that the US is getting the Snapdragon chipset 820, which performs well, and that this is the model all the reviewers have been handling to date. However, it looks like the NZ/Aus models may get the Exynos chipset instead, and that this may be a materially weaker processor.

The G5 also looks nice. I'm not convinced by the silly modular add-ons, but the core of Snapdragon 820, 4GB of Ram, removable battery and microSD tick most of my boxes. Plus the second wide-angle camera looks intriguing. The smaller battery seems odd however.

Curiously, the reviews I looked at state that the S7's microSD slot allows phone storage to be expanded to a maximum of 200GB, whereas the LG will take cards up to 2TB when available. As the capacity of microSD cards are growing quickly, prices per GB relentlessly falling, and most people keep flagship phones for a number of years, this looks odd for the S7 design?

I will probably get one or the other, But need more real-world usage reviews first.
