So, have you made a decision OP? Sounds like it's down to Nexus or Note (?)

For me, the development of roms etc for the Note is great. Always something different to try out on XDA. For now I've rested on an ICS rom. Looking forward to see what devs do with the offical ICS release soon.

Can't speak for GNex development, but I'm sure there's plenty too.

Edit: Oooo Yay! I'm officially a 'Geek'. No longer a 'Wanabe-Geek'. Laughing

My wife and I both have Sony Xperia Actives on XT.

If you want portably connected screen real estate get a proper laptop with a built in 3G modem.

But if you want a cell phone that does a competent job with data then these could well be the 'droids you're looking for …

Brand is a subjective driver.  I’ve had cell phones since we were allowed to test on the original AMPS Courtney Place cell site (cellular digitterati may remember they were the 025 mobiles that had 6 digit numbers starting with 5) that have included Panasonic, OKI, Nokia, Motorola, BlackBerry, and Sony.   I even have a still working Motorola 3200 on Voda.  Sure quality counts, style and speed less so, but the killer for me is the RF performance and the little Xperia does pretty well.

P1n3apqlExpr3ss:
Judging from those specs the LTE version won't run on any NZ network... einfo fail

I might contact them just to check that they really are trying to sell the LTE version in NZ, but yeah, it looks rather silly.

Yeah, down to the Nexus or the Note, but sort of agonising over that still. Especially since einfo appear to be selling the LTE version of the Nexus.

I'm going to do a little research on that subject, actually - not sure what's out there for GNex.

They sell the normal nexus also, I bought one from them. I would get the nexus over the note after trying it. It's big but not to big and ICS is slick as. Plus you don't have to root it etc to get a good OS. And it's $100 cheaper

Well, I think what's happened is they've out the wrong specs on the website, but I have emailed them and am waiting to hear back from them just to make sure.

I think that the better camera and external memory slot on the Note would be worth the extra cost if I wanted the bigger screen, but I am leaning towards the Nexus right now.

OK, got a response from einfo - they have confirmed that the model they sell will run on both Vodafone and XT (although not that they listed the wrong model), so we can conclude they are really selling the standard GNex, not the LTE version.
