Regardless of how my experience is, never will upgrade a phone every year - personally don't think that's being savvy.

I've been on Oneplus devices for years (OP1 & OP3) prior to moving to the Note 9. Though the Oxygen OS was fluid, fast updated etc the Note 9 just works (yes it sounds like an apple story here..).

Though personally I like the newest and greatest (thus the eventual outcome to flash Pie myself) I think Samsung is doing OK currently. Would own a Samsung again as long as they stick to their current path... I mean LG's the only other big manufacturer that kept the 3.5mm.... Happily stick to Samsung for that very reason.

Thanks, good news. I can't delete on my S7 and would be reluctant to move to S10 if still the case.

I've had every Note since the 2. Yes they are always slow with updates but one should consider just how much extra their UI does on top of vanilla android. I'd rather be amongst the last to get it, at least other regions can thoroughly beta test it for us.

Personally I don't mind being late to get major updates like this - like hachdrag0n said - at least other regions can thoroughly beta test it for us.

What I DO mind though, is that we are so late getting security updates. Here we are well into February, with only the Nov 1st security version.

Hi Catspyjamas, I'm just lurking as I have a Note8 but are you sure re security update my Note8 has Jan 2019 Security update I would be surprised the Note9 only has November 2018. Maybe manually poke the update button just to be sure.

I had a Galaxy s3, then a note II and then went away from Samsung for the next five phones. I went back with the Galaxy s8+ and now have the note 9. Given all the conflicting compramises i wild totally but Samsung again and unless something radicle happens plan to buy the note 10 or the second generation of the foldable phone depending on how that goes.

How interesting that they're released it to Note 8s.

Note8 isn't getting a major OS update for a bit so can be pushed out separately instead of being bundled.

Most likely because we would have already received it if we weren't lagging behind the global Pie rollout.

I would speculate that the Note 8 got it because they are later on the update schedule for Pie (which funnily enough has disappeared from my Members app notices)

I think you maybe right as you should now be on pie and I'll bet all future security updates are now pie based.

Fair enough..

If you stick to the instructions.. it's fairly easy..

But I get why, I felt the same way at first..
