Make whatever you want to make of it

landcruiserguy: Are we there now?
I have never actually met a kid that did this in my life, until my sons best friend did it in the car on the way back from an event. A 40 minute drive that she asked, I kid you not, 11 times.
My patience was pretty thin by the time we dropped her off (which was better than the pushed her out of a still moving vehicle that my ID wanted to do) :)

Linux: It's not been released all over the world far from it
According to Sammobile:
Countries where Galaxy Note 9 Android Pie update is rolling out
I'm not even sure this list is up to date.
That seems to represent a good slice of the major telecoms markets.
Also, they have released the Aus firmware that installs and runs on our devices and seems to be fully compatible with our carrier networks.
First world problem, yes, but not cool. Even some of the markets that have already had Pie roll out have got more than one security update since November. There are multiple security bulletins that have been issued since then, some of which have exploits in the wild.
This is not OK.
DANOFDANGER: At this stage it may make things worse. I had a go on the s10 with one UI, it wasnt instantly impressive at all. Nothing but a skin change that at this stage could be debatable on its overall effectiveness compared to the former UI. Really no need to have the itch to update, you may find your itch gets worse when it does arrive. So whats the point.
The point is SECURITY, not a new UI. As y.ggdrasil pointed out - there are exploits in the wild that have been patched in updates we have't got. Samsung NZ has not released Dec, Jan, or Feb security patches for Note 9 in spite of the fact that said security patches are available and have been released to Note 9s in many other parts of the world, both for those still on Oreo and Pie. The only way Note 9 in NZ can move off November the 1st security patch is by getting Pie.
Linux: First world problem and when Android9 is pushed out to your handset it's not going to change a thing

Except three months of security patches, a major OS version bump and a band new UI.
The only reason we're still waiting is because New Zealand carriers are dragging their arses so they can inject garbage bloatware and hideous startup logos.
Linux: No bloat or start up logos on my 2degrees S9+
