To be fair, even though Samsung was saying "soon", most of us took that as "I'll get round to that tomorrow".

Is it still worth doing a factory reset with the OTA update?

If so, which would be best to do first?

Allah aukbar! Mashing the check for updates button now.

Maybe they read this thread, got scared we would all flash another rom and hurried up the release.

Flashing the oz rom gets your the next update faster so all is not lost.

Standard advice is to go a full reset after each major Android update so doing a reset after installing pie is wise.

We've talked about this dude. The rumored full version of Ice-cream running inside Pie that you can only get to by drawing an 2 square mile ice-cream with your phone's GPS doesn't exist, its just an internet myth...

Probably been covered recently but I feel unwell and I don't feel like looking, what are you guys backing up to without Root? I mostly care about my SMS, and Photo gallery, but everything except email would be better.

I used smart switch. It's an inbuilt app into Pie too so will work fine.

Has anyone noticed any issues so far? Gonna update anyway, but just wondering if there is anything that I should be aware of? Cheers!

All good. Can't tell much difference except nav guestures, dark theme and the ui looks a little difference.

Nav gestures (I updated but have been too busy to look at anything. I like the new UI elements.

Night Mode is cool! And using the new Gestures, lot more screen real estate!!!

Yeah definitely. With just a day of use, I've grown to like the gesture navigation. I currently still have the guide bars on down the bottom, but even with them there, you get a surprising amount of extra screen real estate! Hopefully I'll get used to them enough after about a week to fully remove the guide bar things and have even more space on the screen.

One mildly frustrating change, is the PiP for Youtube (haven't used anything else yet, but they may be the same) now has the settings icon on the top left of the PiP window instead of the return to fullscreen button there, like it was on Samsung Experience. Which means I keep opening the PiP settings now, just out of muscle memory. 😑

One new thing I stumbled across that I quite like, and that others might too, is the lift to wake feature in advanced settings. With it and face detection enabled, you can lift your phone off the desk and face unlock at the same time for a smoother and speedier unlock. I'm pretty sure this feature is new in One UI/Pie, I haven't seen it there before.
