I used to have the nav bar auto hide so I haven't gained any screen real estate. However I used to have to swipe up to make the nav bar appear and then tap the button so now that's reduced to just one swipe which is better.

Same. Except I am on a bit of a learning curve where I go to swipe up to make the nav bar appear and get a random nav gesture haha. Once I have re-trained myself, I'm sure it will be better.
I felt like a right burke when I was trying to do find something on my phone yesterday for a waiting sale assistant and I set off the nice British lady who looks after Google Assistant.

Get familiar with the pie gestures and OHO+ and you'll never look back.
Hey, geeks - some of you might remember me as the guy who was having Bluetooth connection issues with the bundled Sennheiser Momentum II's a little while back in this thread. Well, I thought I'd pop my head back in to say that, after having Pie installed for a couple of weeks now, I've had no further issues with Bluetooth connectivity.
Right before the update, I was pretty close to getting in touch with PB tech to see if I could swap my current pair of cans for a new pair, because I was clearing the Bluetooth cache every time I used them (sometimes 3x a day).
After the Pie update, I've not had to do it at all. I'm still not sure exactly what caused the issues (codecs?), but whatever happened with the Android update seems to have fixed things, so I'll take the win. Cheers!
p.s. loving the Pie update generally - night mode, the UI tweaks, and the gestures are great.
Since we only got the January one with Pie last month (and missed out on the February patch altogether), can we assume this March 1st patch is cumulative?
Yarrr, 2Degrees as well. I don't see anything that explicitly says so, but I would imagine it is cumulative.
I must say, so far the experience with the Pie has been positive. Leagues ahead of previous vanilla Android major version bumps.
Stability is great, and loving the night mode and lift to wake. Gestures are ........ there. I'm warming to them, but still having a few accidental strikes, but getting better. Battery life feels like it is ok on the whole, feels slightly worse, but don't no if that is because of things like lift-to-wake being active.
One thing that is fricken annoying (and probably not related to the Pie) is every time I close the front cover on my case (Samsung clear view case) when I am in a messages conversation, it automatically starts ringing the person. Because I am so used to doing that everywhere else, I do it without thinking.
Aus firmware user here: has anyone been able to compare the Aus firmware with the native ones from the NZ telcos?
I've noticed a few odd things (e.g., when I boot and shut down I get the spark logos and animations), but no real problems I can see. Curious about whether it would now make sense to go back to the stock firmware since they've finally updated it.
Any thoughts, suggestions?
thanks

Try turning off Direct Call under Motions and Gestures in the settings?
CSC is now tied to an IMEI so it just reverts to your Spark CSC. You will probably be on the same firmware.
I wouldn't bother personally.
I have an annoying issue to do with built in text messaging app, that when I send a text message, it sends the message and nek minit it calls them!
It's been occuring for the last few days. Anyone else seeing it?

Sounds similar to my problem above.
As per the advice of @landcruiserguy, I turned off every setting related to gestures and calls and it seems to have fixed it good.

I went back to the NZC firmware yesterday as for some reason my XSA wasn't updating over OTA (thoughts anyone?)
I didn't actually get any boot logos on both firmware at all and was having no issues either or

Can anyone confirm?
stateless: I've been told the Exynos (N960F/DS) has better reception in AU/NZ vs the Snapdragon version (N9600).
Can anyone confirm?
