Could you please post links or details on how to do this. Especially the mail forwarding. Im really keen to buy in U.S play store then send to that New Zealand post shipping from america thing. I could have the 8gb Nexus 4 imported for under $400 meaning I wouldn't have to pay GST or import duties.

Any help would be appreciated thanks.

Here's what I did.

1. Go to www.shipito.com and register. You'll be given a US postal address in Oregon.
2. Go to wallet.google.com and sign in with your gmail credentials. If you haven't already done so add a credit card and use the Oregon address for the credit cards billing address.
3. Download tunnel bear VPN www.tunnelbear.com and turn it on and set it to USA.
4. While the VPN is on go to to the Play store, select shop for devices and buy what you want. It'll get shipped to your US address and they'll forward it to your NZ address.

It'll be touch and go whether you get it for under $400 NZD as shipping charges getting included when they calculate GST.

If the N4 retails for $550 or so, I might just buy one locally, since with GST/shipping/etc, it'll end up around $510-530 anyway..

Will be interesting to hear people's views on this once available, I am a very content SIII owner but the lure of similar spec and always up to date OS is rather appealing. The other factor is I will be buying a nexus tablet in the near future and having two devices on different versions of android will rightly pee me off I am sure :P

The other factor is I will be buying a nexus tablet in the near future and having two devices on different versions of android will rightly pee me off I am sure :P

I certainly won't be trading in my Note 2 for one of these, can't live within the storage limitations and no USB audio kills it for me really (yes, aware JB has USB audio but it is a stupid proprietary implementation that only works with devices built to work with Android, not a stand USB audio implementation as per the S3/Note 2).

That said, I will be getting one to play around with... Likely go the VPN route for purchasing.

I was looking forward to this phone but it looks like LG has set the RRP really high (e.g. in Europe it's around €550-€599, even in Spain where you can order it direct from the Play Store for €299-€349), so it won't be anywhere near as cheap as the play store price. Sigh!

If you currently own an LG phone you can download the box app from the play store and get 50GB storage free. Will be useful for the new LG nexus phone. Deal ends on 31/12/12 though.

The app looks really nice, I've added it on my ipad also and it has access to the 50GB as well.

Well shipping is a Service... But yes it is annoying.

I will get a freind to buy me one in Australia, then bring it over in their luggage for Xmas. No Shipping fees this way, and perhpas it makes returns / warranty easier?

I am a bit concered about that glass back cracking when I drop it / cat knocks it off the table / baby chews on it then throws it across the room.
