Wow that's a pretty strong reaction. I use my phone all the time, and I don't see a single sign of wear or tear on it anywhere.

One thing I'd be keen to now is if anyone knows if the burn in issue with the s3 is warranty?

I couldn't understand the hatred toward the S3's plastics when it was released, but having since migrated to a Nokia 920 the S3 definitely feels flimsier by comparison. I have a Samsung tablet also and while it performs well the feel of it is very similar to the S3, creaky low cost plastic

Yeah I am all about performance rather than aesthetics, radio hates metal so the less metal that's in it the better as far as I am concerned.

if that comment is pointed at me then you would be putting words in my mouth, I do not rate aesthetics above performance at all, every device has its own merit, take a step back though and compare the S3 with its peers purely on a look and feel basis, it is not a class leader by a longshot

You have just mentioned three companies who are struggling to even exist in the smartphone market. Two of those companies will be lucky to survive at all in their current market.

Considering the amazing popularity of the S range of Galaxy phones, I think you are a minority.

Mine's been on 24/7 for about 8 months and it still looks new. The haterade on the build is over the top.

Well having owned at LEAST 45 Phones in my life, I can simply say that isn't my experience either. I have had 2 faults with my s3, both wireless, but I've owned at least 10 Samsung phones and it's the first fault I've ever had with them and their warranty support was flawless.

It's not the best feeling phone in the world, but the only time I ever notice it is when these discussions pop up. Considering that it's unmarked with the lifestyle I lead, I'd buy another in a heart beat made of this material.

The build quality is pretty good; it's the build materials that are questionable. That cheap looking glossy back is a big cause of this

I agree i think the quality is right up there and can't see how anyone can say its below Motorola but each to their own.

I don't like the colours or the glossy back but never bought it for how well it looks, besides I have it in a case like most folks so don't see it as a problem.

As an aside I wouldn't exactly say HTC build quality works that well since they can't even get battery life sorted.

Looks like 2600mA battery confirmed too.

I note the camera module footprint and bump are quite large, hoping that means a credible increase in sensor size.

I also note all the backgrounds in settings are white, ? no AMOLED. That could be a regional variation though, they've done that before.
