Asmodeus: The 980 flagship model looks good.

Ultra-thin body, 5 inch 1920*1080 pixel display,  Mediatek quad-core MT6589 processor, 1GB of RAM, 16GB ROM, 13 MP rear camera, 5MP front cam, Android 4.2 OS Jelly Bean, OTA updates, 1080p video capture, Chinese apps removed

US $349 with free shipping  (NZ $421)

Just a note on this: if you put the costs (US$349)  into www.whatsmyduty.org.nz (the NZ Customs Duty Calculator), you get told you'll need to pay NZ $101.14 in duty, bringing the total up to $522.

To avoid duty, you need the total cost plus shipping to be < $NZ400

I'm yet to meet a Chinese seller who won't put whatever parcel value you want on the packing slip :)

Should be careful because it's illegal to wrongly declare the value of your item. You are held liable if they catch you as it's up to you to make sure they declare the correct value.

I have got two Chinese phones, A Bird V1277 and a Star N9000 (i9220 Pad). Neither of them work on low Wifi or Cell tower signal levels where my trusty old LG P500 still operates.
Have other users of Chinese phones found the RF sensitivity to be a problem?
I like having dual sims so I can keep my original 2 degree business number, while getting cheap calls and data from Skinny or Vodafone.
When I travel to Australia I can keep my Business Sim in and buy a second sim from a local provider.

I broke the 5.03" LCD screen on the Star N9000, but a replacement only cost NZ$35 delivered.
