Batman: Does adguard drain or suck battery?

Not at all. Although Android's battery usage will show AdGuard using the most battery, but that's a reporting issue, as the battery usage of other apps which are routed thru AdGuard are counted against it.

See this page for more details: https://kb.adguard.com/en/android/solving-problems/battery

My phone is giving me erratic information about my background battery usage.

Is there an app that tells me whether my Samsung phone is in deep sleep and works without root? I used accubattery but I think that app itself is causing wakelock

Better Battery Stats

You need to grant it BATTERY_STATS permission using adb, but once you do that it should work like a charm (haven't tested this on a Samsung though, YMMV).
